It’s both no secret nor coincidence, that for some blessed individuals in society, the moment their vocal chords emanate strings of carefully crafted decibels, we are left utterly memorized. With but a few choice words, their audience is drawn ever nearer, resembling closely that of moths encircling a flame. Like moths, however, there too is an inherent danger to be swept away in the display of wonder. For a lit candle can indeed burn, with the scar serving as a cautionary tale for others. That’s of course not to say all will be scorched.. sometimes, the warmth we receive has the potential to ignite our own embers, inspiring us to be a light for those around us.

Certain words, a good voice, accompanying a decent image is hard to resist for most (myself included). Charismatic magnetism.. reminiscent of the feeling of butterflies? Irrespective, it’s all too easy to be lost in shallow desires. For when we take note of a person, not for who they are, but instead as a result of physical attraction, our own inner beauty is pushed aside. How then may one caught in this gravitational pull, navigate such tricky waters?

To recognize our shortcomings, is to keep our inner beauty alive. Paying close attention to the choices we make (and the reasons we do), provides the opportunity to listen; both to ourselves and others alike. Not merely the words which proceedeth tongues either, more so to reactions. It may too come as a surprize, that oftentimes, these be in alignment. With how we proceed defining the person we are, one thing remains certain.. a charming individual need not actively seek attention.

Till next time,
