The pyramid of needs according to Maslow
According to Maslow, a person's motivations result from the dissatisfaction of some of his needs.
Maslow's work classifies human needs in order of importance in five levels. This classification corresponds to the order in which they appear to the individual; meeting the needs of one level generating the needs of the next level.

The idea is that one can only act on the "superior" motives of a person on the express condition that his primary motivations (physiological and security needs) are satisfied.

The physiological needs
Physiological needs are needs directly related to the survival of the individual or species These are typically concrete needs (eating, drinking, dressing, reproduction, sleeping ...).

A priori these needs are satisfied for the majority of us, however we do not carry on these needs the same appreciation. This difference of appreciation can lead to a situation that will be judged unsatisfactory for the person and in turn the need to satisfy will create a motivation for the person.

Security needs
Security needs come from the aspiration of all of us to be physically and morally protected. These are complex needs in that they cover an objective part - our safety and that of our family - and a subjective part linked to our fears, our fears and our expectations whether they are rational or not.

- security of a shelter (housing, house)
- income and resource security
- Physical security against violence, delinquency, aggression ...
- Moral and psychological security
- security and family stability or, at least, emotional
- medical / social security and health

Membership needs
The needs of belonging corresponding to the needs of love and relationship of people:
- need to love and to be loved (affection)
- having intimate relationships with a spouse (forming a couple)
- have friends
- become part of a cohesive group
- feel accepted
- do not feel lonely or rejected
- I will add here the need to be on STEEMIT :)

These are the needs of belonging to a group whether social, relational or statutory. The first group of belonging of a person is the family.

Social needs are the integration needs of a group. Each person can belong to several identified groups.

Needs of esteem
The needs of esteem correspond to the needs of consideration, reputation and recognition, of glory ... of who we are by others or by a group of belonging. The measure of esteem can also be related to the gratifications granted to the person.

It is also the need for self-respect and self-confidence.

Self-fulfillment needs
The need for self-fulfillment is the need to fulfill oneself, to exploit and develop one's personal potential in all areas of life.

This need can take different forms depending on the individual.

For some it will be the need to study, to learn more, to develop one's skills and personal knowledge, for others it will be the need to create, to invent, to do; for others it will be the creation of an inner life ...

It's also the feeling that a person does something in his life.

A model to put into perspective
The Maslow pyramid is one of the most taught motivation theories, especially in management. However, the classification of needs in a hierarchical manner, which imposes the satisfaction of a need before reaching the next, is no longer considered valid, an individual being able, according to his character, to be more sensitive to a particular need, independently of satisfaction or not of the lower needs
