### Hello Splinterlands fam!


Mango here! Welcome to another Splinterlands post. I hope all of you are doing well in life and enjoying a fresh and sunny day with your loved ones, eagerly awaiting the upcoming weekend. Now, for those of you who love to play splinterlands every day and dedicatedly building your assets and progressing in the game, I guess you all are enjoying every moment of it, especially the thrill while playing matches and defeating your opponent with your unbeatable cards and impenetrable strategy. Anyway, if you are playing in the current ranked season, you must be aware that we have already spent some time in this ongoing one and looking at the season clock, we only have about 10 days and 17 hours before this season meets its end. So, whatever goal you have set for yourself and are working on right now, you'd better work hard on it, because as they say, time flies fast in splinterlands and before you even realise, you will enter the season end bloodbath.

Now talking about my own progress, right now I am fully into playing the frontier mode and building and upgrading my foundation edition card collection. For those who are probably still sleeping under a rock, splinterlands has recently released a completely free-to-play mode in the game, where you do not need to own or rent any cards or SPS in order to play. Yes, you heard me right, you can start playing this new mode completely for free and win Foundation Edition cards by simply completing the daily reward mission or by advancing into the next league tiers. The best part about this new mode is that unlike reward cards, these cards will not be of soul bound type and you can easily list your earned cards for sale and earn from it. Though I would recommend first upgrading your foundation cards to max level to increase your reward earnings to max. Anyway, I have been playing this mode for the past 4 seasons now and no need to say that I am enjoying every bit of it. Gladly, just today I successfully reached the Silver league for the first time and as you can see from the screenshot above, right now I am playing at Silver III league tier with a current trophy count of 220 and need only 80 more trophies to reach the next league tier, Silver II. Looks like my month’s hard work is finally being paid. As I am about to play this mode continuously and keep upgrading my cards, hopefully, I will reach the highest Gold league one day soon and unlock the highest possible rewards. Gladly, as I have now reached Silver league, I am getting not 2, but 3 cards per daily reward claim, which will certainly boost my foundation card acquisition rate significantly from now on. Let’s see how much more it takes to upgrade all those Archon cards to level 2, because that’s what I need the most right now and so far, I have been able to upgrade only 1 Archon.

### Buttercup Mauler


Now, moving forward to the main topic of this post, today I will be showcasing another awesome Conclave Arcana monster with you all. As you have already seen in the thumbnail above, today I will be talking about the Buttercup Mauler. So, if you are interested, let’s take a deep dive without any further ado.

Buttercup Mauler is a monster type card which was first released into splinterlands with the launch of Conclave Arcana edition cards. This monster belongs to the Earth element and it comes from the Fey. By rarity, it is a common type card, so you would require a total of 400 BCX cards to upgrade this card to its max level. It costs 5 mana to be used in battles, so you can easily fit this card in your lineup when playing medium to high mana limit matches. The attack type of this card is melee and the best feature of this card is its Sneak ability. But apart from a high-powered sneak melee attack, this monster also has a large health bar with good speed, along with 4 abilities at its max level, which I am going to talk about later in this post. Let us now take a deeper look at this card’s league wise stats and abilities to find out more.

#### BRONZE

At level 3, this monster possesses pretty good stats - 3 melee attack at 2 speed with 4 health. Not only that, but it also holds 2 abilities - Sneak and Deflect, both of which it gets from its initial level. So, you basically get a high attack power sneak card tight out of the box, which is also immune to indirect damage.

`SNEAK` - Targets the enemy unit in the last position.

`DEFLECT` - 0 damage from Corrosive Ward, Magic Reflect, Thorns, Return Fire and Blast splash damage.


#### SILVER

As you upgrade this monster further to level 5, it receives an increased 3 melee attack at 2 speed with 5 health. Apart from the increment in its health bar, it also gets a new ability at this level called Reveal, which is basically an anti-Camouflage ability. So, no fest of those invisible camouflage monsters anymore.

`REVEAL` - Each round applies to a camouflage unit. Revealed units can be targeted by direct attacks.


#### GOLD


When this monster gets upgraded to its next league level 8, it gets an increment in its stats, as it now flaunts a big 4 melee attack power at 4 speed with 6 health, along with those 3 abilities that I mentioned above. Though it doesn't get any new abilities at this level, its increased stats will surely help you to score more wins on the battlefield.


#### DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally, when you upgrade this mobster to its max level of 10, it possesses a stats even more dangerous - 5 melee attack power at 4 speed with 6 health. Not only that, but it also gets a brand new ability at this level called Camouflage.

`CAMOUFLAGE` - Cannot be directly targeted unless in the first position. Does not affect indirect attacks (e.g., Scattershot, Blast splash damage, or Trample) or Wingbreak.
