Can we even call it race preparation?...

I just finished a 5.595km running that lasted about 0hh:28mm:17ss !

Hey Exhausters,

It's been a while! Yes, I know I didn't even post an update after the Detroit half marathon back in October. If I remember correctly, most of the post is probably written, I just never got to publish it. Maybe some day... In case you were wondering, it went well, and with about 1h50min, I stayed well under my 2hours target. After that though, just a couple runs in December and that's it!

But I got an email recently from the [Martian Invasion of Races](https://martianraces.com/) warning me the 10k I didn't even remember registering for, was this coming week end! I run this race almost every year, and more often than not, it's basically the first time I run in months. So, oops, I did it again! But I fear that now that I'm closer to 50 than 40 (yes, kind of dating myself here), my usual no-training/no-warmup/no-cooldown/no-sleep might not work for ever...

So Sunday, to at least check that I still knew how to run, I decided to go for a short one. That was a great day for it, somewhat sunny, and around 41F or 5C (I guess unlike many people my favorite temperature range to run is approximately between 32F and 41F, or 0C to 5C). Obviously it wasn't too fast, but it really wasn't that bad. And without feeling like I was digging into the reserves, I could stay near 8min/mile pace.

I felt a little bit sore two days later, but really light, and it's already gone. No knee or ankle pain, no other typical out-of-shape kind of pain, so I guess it's a good sign. I thought I would go for one more run on Wednesday (today), maybe about 8km and a final super slow and short one on Friday to finish this *preparation*. But the weather, lack of time, and most importantly laziness made me skip it. Thursday is supposed to be rainy and snowy, so I am not sure either. Well, in short, this will probably be my only run before the race this Saturday. Oh well...

Keep Exhausting!
