Well, our last [weekly report](https://steemit.com/money/@mapxv/mapxv-weekly-profit-statement-and-news-1-september-2019-map-steem-fintech) was rather upbeat - turned out to be rather presumptuous.

As members couldn't post and MAPXV couldn't vote, there was little to do after checking our logs.

The data shown in that previous post still holds true, and MAPXV remains very good value for money, even if the token price is around 1.6 STEEM. 

I'm very aware that many Steemians are hurting due to drops in rewards, but all the more reason to review one's earning strategy. Vote bonds such as MAPXV were designed knowing that HF21 was round the corner and knowing that my own analysis of the impact it would have would not be believed till it actually happened. MAPXV is designed to give higher upvotes than the same STEEM could do as one's own SP. One therefore needs to think about how much SP you really need compared with other forms of STEEM, such as tokens. 

Whether it is MAPXV for votes, or MAPR for rewards, the beauty of tokens is that they do not require powering down. Sure, these programs need to invest in SP but they also hold other tokens that are more liquid. Sadly, liquidity is a two-way affair and requires a vibrant market - something that I hope will return. While in the current market situation, realising profits can take a few days, but certainly not weeks.

So, keep as much SP as you feel you need, but then look towards diversifying your holdings, especially in these turbulent times where you may wish to move your STEEM around without waiting 13 weeks.
