As a board game, Battleship was already successful and very entertaining, the strategic games with our friends was a nice way to spend a few hours of entertainment, but even so, that board game was missing something that game consoles could give us, and that was those explosive and destructive effects that we wanted to see so much. The NES released this great videogame, and our fanaticism led us to explore and get to know the world of Battleship from our TV screens.

It was extremely important to know the name of each ship of our fleet, for this, we had indicators at the bottom of the screen both for the ship and for the ammunition. It is important to know that we had infinite ammunition of 1 single projectile with the so-called "RIKM-66", and with the other projectiles of each ship we had only one launch.

The first of them was the Frigate, this ship was the smallest and occupied only 2 squares, that is to say, with two effective shots, they destroyed our smallest ship, this small ship had a launch of 4 projectiles, with which we had to be very cautious at the time of using them.

The importance of knowing the name of each ship, was because if we had not yet used the projectile of one of our ships that the rival was about to destroy, we could use the shot before our ship was destroyed, this was important, because taking advantage of those shots could give us a certain advantage to win the games, and not taking advantage of them would give us a very big disadvantage against the CPU.

<div class="pull-left"><img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/marcoquin/23uFKKjzVJc43xm5p8VH6MkMR6CkERSRx3i1wvngsMv3yK9ZDLTBTMFsXsECuavKPauek.png" alt="DESTROYER DESTRUCTOR.png"></div>

<center>Captures made from the emulator of my game</center>

The second ship was called Destroyer, it occupied 3 squares of the game box and its gun had like the Frigate, 4 projectiles but in another direction, the name of its projectiles was "Asroc-71".

It was also important to know that in the lower box of the screen of each of our projectiles, we were also shown the integrity of the ship, mainly useful when attacking, to know if that was the ship that was about to be destroyed, to decide to take advantage of that launch before it was too late.

<div class="pull-left"><img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/marcoquin/23uFKFPb3f2BLyehaCsyMqbqBoxMPxik1hD6iQfG9kjCFjqs8eF979SejH3ZB5mEmQa6g.png" alt="CRUISER CRUCERO.png"></div>

<center>Captures made from the emulator of my game</center>

The third ship, named Cruiser, occupied 4 squares and was the second largest of our fleet, its projectile had the name of "Seadart" and had a total of 5 projectiles, quite effective and that we could use strategically at the time that we could consider as more appropriate.

Another important fact is that each ship at the beginning of each game, as in the board game, could be placed horizontally or vertically in any part of the square, so that the positioning strategy of each ship was up to us.

<div class="pull-left"><img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/marcoquin/23u5vW7y79DKECAy2xeXer1dxTy1GJTm25vSJpMgMSMzWGLGWU6VZihmJHYcPbDTg84Pv.png" alt="BATTLESHIP ACORAZADO.png"></div>

<center>Captures made from the emulator of my game</center>

Finally, we had our most powerful ship, the great "Battleship" or in Spanish: acorazado. This ship was the largest of all, and occupied a total of 5 squares, its projectile named "Sonar", had a total of 6 hits.

<img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/marcoquin/6sgVt6KN-Franja20RETRO.png" alt="Franja RETRO.png">

<center>Captures made from the emulator of my game</center>

At each shooting opportunity, we were shown a screen with a peephole, where we could see how close or far our shots were coming, usually when we hit, we could lose one or two shots trying to guess the positioning and type of ship we were hitting, although for this, everyone had their own strategy to spend as few attempts as possible.

<div class="pull-left"><img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/marcoquin/23wWkMoL9k7jZDE3h4uAZisdQytKRxiCZZsmYHHSLfBzhiHZuGJVfMCBWm18k1FjEKHtx.png" alt="MIS BARCOS.png"></div>

<center>Captures made from the emulator of my game</center>

Our ships and their integrity were shown on a green-bordered screen, while the opponent's was blue-bordered, we had to be very careful to avoid making launches that were inconsistent with what was happening on the board, depending on the experience, we were further improving our technique, with a total of 5 battles in each level, with a maximum of 5 levels. Something important to mention is that once we passed a level, we were given a new weapon as a reward and motivation to continue with the game.

<center>Capture made from the emulator of my game</center>

At the end of each level, we were shown a summary screen with the total number of shots and hits of both the cpu and us, also including the effectiveness in the game, and most importantly, a Password that we could write down in case we decided to pause the game and resume it another time, and thus not lose our progress. A great game that allowed us to live with more realism and more emotion each game played, a classic that is still valid today.

<div class="pull-left"><img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/marcoquin/23uFKKjzVJc43xm5p8VH6MkMR6CkERSRx3i1wvngsMv3yK9ZDLTBTMFsXsECuavKPauek.png" alt="DESTROYER DESTRUCTOR.png"></div>

<div class="pull-left"><img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/marcoquin/23uFKFPb3f2BLyehaCsyMqbqBoxMPxik1hD6iQfG9kjCFjqs8eF979SejH3ZB5mEmQa6g.png" alt="CRUISER CRUCERO.png"></div>

<div class="pull-left"><img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/marcoquin/23u5vW7y79DKECAy2xeXer1dxTy1GJTm25vSJpMgMSMzWGLGWU6VZihmJHYcPbDTg84Pv.png" alt="BATTLESHIP ACORAZADO.png"></div>

<img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/marcoquin/6sgVt6KN-Franja20RETRO.png" alt="Franja RETRO.png">

<div class="pull-left"><img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/marcoquin/23uEqXnxq5sSJKxV8TDx6bNmLjFHco4cG2KQ1wQTDaws1i7Bgt1o5GaWsdo2JmRtYhnEG.png" alt="DISPAROS FALLIDOS.png"></div>

<div class="pull-left"><img src="https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/marcoquin/23wWkMoL9k7jZDE3h4uAZisdQytKRxiCZZsmYHHSLfBzhiHZuGJVfMCBWm18k1FjEKHtx.png" alt="MIS BARCOS.png"></div>
