Piece of Poland in Chicago. Introduction
Today I would like to take to the polish Deli Store in Chicago. Have you ever been in the store like that where the food scent spreads in the whole store. Polish people like to eat good stuff and full of composition I am not telling that everything is super healthy there but taste really delicious. Every Saturday the store is full of people mostly polish but also American and Russian. It is so crowded that is almost impossible to move or go forward, backward with the cart. A lot of fresh homemade traditional food. Let me take you for a little trip around the store enjoy the goods and the store atmosphere. Maybe you will find out something what you know and you like it. Pleasure will be mine if you would share with me is there anything you like from our polish kitchen 🤗

I am so thankful the Bona Sforza brought veggies to my country other way it would be long way to discover something different than the meat and beans. 😊
Bona Sforza (2 February 1494 – 19 November 1557) was a member of the powerful House of Sforza, which ruled the Duchy of Milan since 1447. In 1518, she became the second wife of Sigismund I the Old, the King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania.

The first months of her stay in Poland were very difficult for Bona. The Italian princess was used to a diet full of fresh fruits, vegetables, and olive oil, but in Poland they ate a lot of meat, which made her sick. Polish cuisine was based on meat, beans, and some strongly-spiced foods. After a few months, she started to grow her own vegetables in the garden near Wawel castle.
At first the Polish nobles did not understand Bona’s diet, but with time, vegetables started to be more popular among Polish people. Nowadays, a basic bunch of vegetables that includes celery, carrot, parsley, and leek is called ‘‘włoszczyzna’’ (Włochy).

Thank you Bona Sforza :)

For a long time polish people love herbs. There was the time when they picked them up very early mornings and healed their families. Now we still love herbs but there are only couple people who still following that old way. At the polish stores you can find around 100 different tea to help you for many problems. One thing is difficult with herbs don't work right away the process to heal your body is long and need regularity.
