"their failure to comply with the basic rules" synonyms: negligence, dereliction; Let's start with the first definition: lack of success. * Even though I have spend considerable time on the Steem platform, have been networking, and providing help to many, I haven't been able to earn any significant amounts of money. * Or attrackt one of the deep pocketed entities on this blockchain to support my community efforts with a significant delegation. On to the second definition: the omission of expected or required action. * My podcast got somewhat cast aside and I haven't published it on a regular basis. * My garden is very sad that Bermuda grass has taken over the world. The space was looking very good - until life took a different turn and now, I am looking at nothing but projects that need to be done. ### Some of the Garden Projects https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2UasP8CS_0 I like my definition of failure better than the dictionary's. Mine is: ## A failure is an outcome different than planned and/or expected. Of those, I have way too many to even be able to list them here - like right now, I am sitting here typing away with a hot water bottle on my back because it is hurting like crazy. What I was planning on doing is go through all my donation books I received for my Little Free Library, sort out the garden related ones to donate them to a library getting started at a community garden. Instead - I can barely move. But, I am writing this post. And that is an achivement!!  ## Achievements Let's start with the garden. The front beds are looking pretty good and we and the chickens are eating daily from it.  The Cherimoya tree on the left gave me some fruit this year for the first time. And so did several of the dragon fruit.  I can look into the sky and find joy in the blue of the sky, the clouds, the birds flying - you get the idea.  ## On Steem * I came here with no idea about markup or, for that matter, much computer skills. I learned a lot! * I have published at least one post daily for at least 418 days (besides the HF20 days). I know that because today, I published # 418 of the Daily 5-Minute Freewrite prompt. * Many people have told me that through that prompt and the daily writing, they have been able to break through writers block. Or found out that they actually can write fiction. And more. * A few people have published books based on stories they wrote first using the prompt. * We have formed a very nice and supportive community of freewriters. * That let to the founding of the @freewritehouse. The voting power we have at that account is through smallish delegations of freewriters. <center></center> * We (I) are doing contests through the Freewrite House account to support writers on Steem and many geared to showcase the work of the freewriters and to support them. I am so grateful to @curie for their sponsorship of some of the prizes. * In November, a group of us set out to do NaNoWriMo with a freewrite twist _ The Freewrite House November Madness. NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month and the idea is to write a novel (50,000 words) in one month. Many of us followed the daily prompt to propell our stories forward. * I finished!  * I started a successful fundraiser to enable one of our Venezuelan freewriters to get an operation she desparately needed. Steem prizes were falling and the inflation kept raising the cost of the operation - but we did it! * I finally have been able to make DTube work for me and am part of the #dtubefamily777 started by @nathanmars * I have been active in several steem discord initiatives and have also organized in person Steem meetups. * I discovered @Actifit and have posted every day at least 5000 points - not today - due to my back. This belongs in the failure section :) * Now, I am busy to completely rearrange my house and need to be finished by Monday.
