Mexican architectural firms Espacio 18 and Cueto have taken advantage of abandoned land in Puebla, Mexico, to design a monolithic contemporary home, but in which they have incorporated a bright interior courtyard and rooftop patio. .
The house is home to 249 m2, spread over three floors, with a main living room on the ground floor, three bedrooms upstairs and the roof terrace. Casa Once was designed to suit a young couple looking for a shelter that would take them away from the chaos and create a space of tranquility. The house has a rectangular floor plan, taking all the building area. To create outdoor spaces, the top floor has a patio overlooking the city, while a protected courtyard on the ground floor introduces greenery into the interior. The house is located in a single-family complex in the city of Puebla. Upon entering, there is a living room, a dining room and a kitchen, a black metal staircase leads upstairs with a wooden floor. An acacia is planted in the center of the inner courtyard and becomes bright purple in the spring, adding a touch of color to the sleek interior.

The interior garden features a patio with double-height glazed walls and a textured, white-painted surface. The top floor of Casa Once offers more space for entertainment, with a multimedia room and an outdoor patio that offers panoramic views of the city and its volcanoes. Nature and cross ventilation play an important role in the design of the house, in keeping with the warm and temperate climate of the region. The exterior of the house is covered with natural wood and black stucco, with minimal windows overlooking the street to create intimacy, as well as to control daytime heat.
