On the occasion of the Miami Art Basel, designer and artist Marc Ange unveiled his new installation, Les Araignées and Le Refuge, from December 5 to 10, at the Faena Hotel Miami. Alongside the famous pink daybed, discovered in Milan earlier this year, Marc Ange chose to present Les Araignées, a collection of armchairs evoking the original and delicate form of spiders. Marc Angel believes that nothing can exist without its opposite, it is a reason to be. "Spiders are inspired by the threatening behavior of small creatures that have haunted my childhood dreams and are why Le Refuge exists," says Marc Ange. This duality is expressed in the staging of the pieces presented. The Spiders, a projection of a threatening and threatening dream, encircle without ever reaching The Refuge, haven of serenity and tranquility. Resting on a pedestal, the most instagrammed piece during the Milan Design Week is revealed only by a small golden staircase, giving the opportunity for the inner child to cross the cloudy sky to escape the dreaded creatures. Covered with Sunbrella fabric, the Spiders are used both indoors and outdoors. This versatility also finds its place in the choice of fabrics and finishes. The different padded areas (the seat, the base, the backrest and the lower part of the feet) are personalized thanks to a multitude of fabrics. The circular seat, placed on a hemispherical body, is suspended by a multitude of metal feet, whose finishes can be declined from gold to color through silver and copper.
