Wutopia Lab has designed the renovation of an apartment in Shanghai, transforming an interior of three bedrooms and two living rooms, into an open space with original and fun design details. Most of the walls have been removed to allow light to diffuse throughout the interior and curved spaces have been added to create lighter partitions. In the living room, there is an L-shaped sofa and in the alcove near the windows, there is a wall of plants, which adds a touch of greenery to the space. A transparent hanging chair divides the living room from the children's area. In the children's area, there is a bed integrated into the play structure with a slide, and the next wall is dressed with a wooden shelf in the shape of a branch. On the other side of the living room is the parents' room. The cupboards on each side of the bed provide storage space, while the wall-mounted cabinet in front of the bed houses a vanity with a backlit mirror that reflects the light from the window. In the kitchen there is a long white island with a dining room next to a mirrored wall. The bathrooms are located in two different curved spaces. The walls of the main bathroom are transparent, but they become opaque when the bathroom is used.
