<center>  Dentro de las enfermedades que afectan al sistema digestivo encontramos la colitis el cual puede ser causada por diferentes factores ademas se requiere de ciertos cuidados en la alimentacion para evitar otras complicaciones, el personal de enfermeria es encargado de orientar tanto al paciente como a los cuidadores.  La colitis es la inflamacion de una de las porciones del intestino denominada colon el cual puede afectar su porcion final es decir el recto, existen diferentes tipos de colitis una de ellas es la colitis ulcerosa e isquémica las principales causas se relacionan a procesos infecciosos por patogenos como bacterias, virus, parasitos, la colitis puede ser una manifestacion de una enfermedad silenciosa aun no descubierta es por ella la importancia acudir al medico de forma temprana y realizar un diagnostico precoz.  Ademas de ser causada por patogenos tambien puede ocurrir por isquemia es decir cuando se obstruye el paso del flujo sanguineo a traves del tejido, por otra parte tambien se incluyen enfermedades cronicas de base sobre todo de origen autoinmune. Entre las principales manifestaciones clinicas encontramos dolor abdominal, diarrea, presencia de sangre en heces, cansancio, fiebre, perdida del apetito y de peso, la complicacion mas grave es la hemorragia rectal.  [Fuente](https://accuesp.com/crohn-y-colitis/la-enfermedad/sintomas)  En cuanto al diagnóstico es realizado por el medico a traves del examen fisico, estudios de laboratorio, cultivo de heces, colonoscopia, entre otros, de acuerdo a los resultados arrojados se determina el tratamiento si es de origen bacteriano es probable que indique antibioticos, los estudios complementarios son fundamentales para la deteccion de neoplasias.
