For example, in the period of high Bitcoin value, the number of theft of login data increased by 689% during the month. in relation to the monthly average.

Hackers are getting better at what they are doing
According to the Group-IB data, there are 50 botnets in the network that attack both cryptocurrency exchanges and their users. They work primarily on Trojan viruses, which are difficult to detect, usually take the form of a small program or file.

The report's authors warn that hackers attacking the cryptocurrency environment are using increasingly sophisticated tools. Their methods resemble those used by cybercriminals attacking technologically advanced banks.

According to the authors of the report, the owners of cryptocurrency accounts do not take sufficient measures to protect themselves against cyber attacks. They emphasize that two-factor authentication. For most exchanges, exchanging virtual money is not working.
