<h3>Markets have an uncanny ability to cause pain.</h3>

Bear markets are unhinged masochist demons which like to stab quickly, then slowly and excruciatingly, they twist the knife.

Bears are hard animals to kill. They can be shot, stabbed, and facing certain death, a bear can still remain dangerous even as they bleed out. 

Like their name-sake, bear markets are hard to kill. Once they get going they can cause massive destruction before they die out. Even as it looks dead and buried, a bear market can use its last breath to cause one last mighty swipe of its claws. 

"How the f**k does this relate to current markets?" This is a question you might ask at this point.

Well, we've been in a pretty gruesome bear market in both Ether and Bitcoin over the past month. Ether has been hit hardest. 

Much like cleaning your room, or starting a political revolution, things are likely to get messier before they get better. While I hope for the sake of my portfolio things rapidly turn around to the upside, I am preparing for more pain as the wounded bear market takes its last slashes at those optimistic enough (like myself) to be bottom fishing at these levels.

The danger that prices go down is very real. The danger that prices rally when you're not fully invested is less of a problem (ie FOMO). So best to err on the side of caution at the moment. The bull market runs we've experienced in the past have looked and felt completely different to our current market environment.

One good thing is the performance of DPoS crypto's like STEEM and EOS vs Ether has been very encouraging. It feels as though the "alt" coins want to run but are being held back by the overall bear market in Bitcoin and especially Ether.
