Your Need of Help
-----------------

**What would a ninja be without his black cowel, or flat bladed sword, or throwing stars, or magic smoke powder?**

*If you missed the first realization, you can [find it here](https://steemit.com/story/@markrmorrisjr/the-ten-realizations-of-a-steemit-ninja-pt-2-the-first-realization-and-how-to-use-this-guide), or [check out my blog](https://steemit.com/@markrmorrisjr) for all of the Steemit Ninja links, and some great fiction! Well, he could probably still kick your butt, after all, Chuck Norris has been doing it for decades without those things. But, the job would be tougher without the element of surprise, the precision weapons and other tools of the trade.

While it is true that these things had an origin, someone had to realize that black pajamas would make stealth easier.

 - Someone had to be the first to shorten a Samurai sword,
 - or sharpen the points on a metal star.
 - But, for the most part, even these were built on ideas that had come before.

*The Ninjas did not invent the sword, the Romans used them long before that, and their roots date back to the Bronze age, about 3000 BC!*

**So, the Ninjas owed a lot to their warrior ancestors.**

> And you owe a lot to freelancers and entrepreneurs that came before. Think about it, what if we were constantly reinventing our banking system, or had to create our own supply of materials for every project we did?

*I joined forces with James, because we both recognized something in the other that we did not possess.*

Our strengths complemented each others weaknesses, creating a stronger whole. James' technical exploration helped me reach beyond what I had learned on my own, and I brought a new level of verbal communication and ability to tell stories and that combination made us more persuasive than either of us had been on our own.

The Steemit Ninja must not only recognize the contributions that others have already made in their lives, but must be able to accurately assess their current skill set, and be willing to admit where their own weaknesses lie.

*Before you begin this next exercise, let me assure you, not every realization in becoming a Networking Ninja will come from a list, but lists are very valuable tools when it comes to assessing where you are, and planning to get where you want to be.*

**Start by thinking through your current business, or occupation, or the dream job you want to create for yourself that made you want to read this guide.**

Now make a mental list of all of the things you think you have done, or could do right in building this position. For every strength on this list, flip the coin over and look underneath for a corresponding weakness.

For instance, you might be a great public speaker, but are you good at booking your own speaking engagements, organizing the event and making sure it is properly promoted?

More than likely you will find a weakness, or area that needs support to match up with each of your areas of strength.

*Don't obsess over how you are going to fix them by taking more classes, getting into a training program, reading another book, or buying a new tool. Just write them down.*

Now, next to each of these challenges, write down the name of the first person that comes to mind when you think of someone who is good at that thing. Don't categorize or edit yourself, just write down the first name that comes to mind.

**Take a look at that list.**

How many of these people do you have easy access to? How many of them are your friends or at least friendly acquaintances?

*If your answer is not many, we will get to the solution for that when we talk about the 6th realization of a Networking Ninja, the Power of Teamwork.*

There are probably several people on this list that you are close to, that might even be willing to help.

We will talk more about that later.

For now, I want you to imagine how much better your business, or job would be if you were able to access the knowledge and skills of each of the people on this list!

*Think of how much easier the things you are already doing well would be, if you had the skills, or services you needed to take care of those things that are hard for you.*

By now, you are probably seeing dollar signs and throwing up all kinds of mental road blocks and reasons that will never happen!

**Stop it!**

The task was not to calculate the cost and determine a plan of action for getting the help you needed. It was to imagine your life if you already had it! The rest of this guide will give you some tools you can use to increase your resources, and even put some underutilized Ninja Weapons to use for you to achieve this!

Now that you look at this list, you are probably wondering how you have managed to get anything done when you had all of these weaknesses and needed all of this help. That's how awesome you are! Now, just think of what you can achieve once you have mastered the art of being a Steemit Ninja, with help like this at your fingertips!

> When I was approached by a long time friend, Boe, about his desire to get involved with Social Media management, James' web development skills immediately came to mind

.

While I knew I could do the technical work required, and learn those skills I didn't already possess, I recognized a shortcut in using James! The amount of time, and considerable frustration the process would create were not conducive to the creativity needed to create the product. Plus, James' creative abilities would amplify mine and Boe's making them that much more powerful.

***We all needed help.***

The Second Realization
----------------------

**Your Need of Help**
*(to be read as described)*

Alone I am powerless
But, I am not alone
I am surrounded by the abundance of the universe
and everything I need is here.
I need the help of others to achieve my success.
There are many around me who possess
the necessary ingredients for my success.
I will ask them for help.
I will ask, and I will receive the help I need,
because I am not afraid to offer others what I possess to help them achieve their success.
I cannot be good at everything, but is not a liability, it is a strength.
As I learn to rely on others around me, I become stronger.
I realize that I am not capable of providing everything that is needed to complete my dream, nor would I want to.
Who has achieved greatness without help?
Who would be there to recognize the achievement?
By realizing my need of help, I am one step closer to realizing my ultimate goal and reaching my success.

**Stay tuned tomorrow for the third realization!**
