You Hold Three Invaluable Commodities Right Now that Others Want ! Commodity #2, Continued...
**Let's talk about a super power that you possess!**

***If you missed part one, [please read it here](https://steemit.com/life/@markrmorrisjr/you-hold-three-invaluable-commodities-right-now-that-others-want-yep-even-you), first!*

This power is so great, that no power on earth can defeat it, once it is properly engaged. It can stand up to any threat, overcome any fear, challenge any obstacle, and you are its master.

You've been using this commodity for as long as you have been able to consciously communicate, sometimes for evil, but more often for your own good. It has saved you from bad choices, probably gotten you into some interesting opportunities and generally stood by, ready to serve you throughout your life.

**This power is something that all humans have, some practice it more than others.**

Like so many great things in life, it's like a muscle, the more you use it intentionally, the stronger it becomes, but you have no more, nor less than anyone else, although it may not seem this is true.

You can see it in action, even with very young children and some wield it strongly from their infancy. When it opposes us, we can frustrated, or fearful of it, but when it is on our side, it is a powerful ally.

**This power is probably best exemplified by a young Chinese student.**

![](http://i.imgsafe.org/f8f7bae885.jpg)

This very powerful image shows one Chinese protester standing, in front of a long line of tanks and refusing to move, while the world looked on through video cameras. This one lone dissident may have saved countless lives in a day that had too much sorrow already.

While the tank may have crushed him, this power would not be phased, and in fact, had they crushed him, his will, infectuously, could have, would have, doubtless grown to swallow the Chinese empire. That is how powerful it is.

**He's doing it again, you say. Is he just going to tell us what it is?**

Follow me for a moment more and I promise you all will be revealed. So, let me ask you a question. What if you knew, that you knew, that you could choose one thing to do today and it would succeed. You had absolute proof, you were convinced you would succeed. What would it take to stop you?

A lot, right? You'd swerve around bribes and counter offers. You'd scoff at intimidation. You'd stand in the face of adversity and spit in its eye as you calmly proceeded to show the world what you are capable of, wouldn't you?

*That's your super power kicking in! You have a strength, laying hidden inside of you that armies cannot crush, that laws cannot prevent, that suffering will not dissuade. Once engaged, it is indestructible and even if they kill you, it can live on.*

**Commodity #2, the human will.**

![](http://i.imgsafe.org/f90f2e206b.jpg)

Some of you are scoffing. You don't have kids. For those who are parents, there is no doubt of the truth of what I am saying, we've seen it in action. In most children, from the age of about two (I have four boys and four girls, so go with me on this, I'm experienced) the human will can be indomitable.

Once a child is determined to stand their ground, you can scold, punish, withdraw, command, demand and scream, but it will get you nowhere, until they disengage their will. Literally, some children are so strong in this department you would literally have to destroy them to overcome it.

- The will is that part of you that keeps on hoping when nothing else will. The part that never quite gives up once it latches on. It is the pitbull of the human psyche and it must be wielded carefully.
- Your will is a powerful tool when pointed in the right direction. It is the stuff that keeps a sailor going into the waves, when everything tells him to turn and run. (an often fatal mistake)
- Once engaged, it can be hard to step back from, however. Once you have committed, you may find it hard to let go, even once you are proven wrong. This is why it is so important that you learn to use it!

**Successful people often say, there came a point where they just "decided"**

You've heard this story before, or hopefully experienced it in your own life in some ways. A moment of decision where failure was not an option and everything was laid on the line, go big or go home! (hell, I'm 45, what am I saying, home is good sometimes too! LOL)

Once the will is engaged, you have full override authority over your fears, common sense, outside influence and logic. You now have the power to fly in the face of all of it, and if you are right, it's glorious! But, falling from here is a risk, too.

- Before committing your will to a thing, you must be sure it is what you really want, because your odds of achieving it rise astronomically. If it is within your power, it will be yours, do you want it?
- Before engaging this overdrive, count the cost. Will it be worth the potential fallout? Once engaged, the will tends to blind us to what's happening around us, it is the pure "mother bear" instinct that makes a small dog formidable against larger adversaries and it is unaware, of danger, or collateral damage.
- Too, it can be addicting, so use it wisely. Overcoming fear is a good thing in pursuit of good goals, but these warnings also serve their purpose, so engaging pure will is not something to be done lightly!

**Well, that's just not me, some of you are saying.**

![](http://i.imgsafe.org/f915e4bd0b.jpg)

Bullshit. I don't say this to be obscene, but nonsense! You are a fearsome adversary, we all are when the cause is right. Think of someone tiny in your life. Someone that no one would ever expect to have a fierce bone in their body. Now, in your imagination, put their most prized relationship at jeopardy, whether that is a child, a lover, a pet. What now? Do you see their fangs coming out? Do you see their claws? Are you a little afraid now? You should be!

We are all so much more powerful than we give ourselves credit for, especially under the power of pure, unadulterated will power. One man, shoulder to shoulder with another, will push back an invading army, turn the tide, block a raging river, build up or tear down anything to achieve what their wills engage to do and unless they choose to disengage, they will die, but their will cannot be destroyed!

*See, this is part of the super power! Will, is contagious. Once one prisoner challenges the system and lives to tell, it's game on!*

**Your tolerance for pain and inconvenience is much higher than you think!**

But, you say, I'm a doormat. I'm an overeater, I smoke and I can't tell my neighbor not to steal my paper. I don't think I have a will!

FINE, let me prove it to you, are you ready?

I want you to think about the thing you fear most. No, not that, go deeper. The real phobia in your life, the place you will NOT EVER go, no matter who takes you there, under what circumstances, no matter the threat or promise of reward. We all have something.

**Now, what would happen if I tried to force you into that situation?**

You would resist. With every fiber of your being. You would commit acts of strength previously assumed impossible in your attempt to prevent me, or escape from the situation. I would have to drag you, unconscious, or dead, into that place. No amount of cajoling, bribing or convincing could do it, could it? No, of course not.

**That is the super power of your will!**

![](http://i.imgsafe.org/f9211884a3.jpg)

So, how is this valuable? Well, some obvious applications have likely occurred to you already. But, think of this. What happens when a group of people are determined to achieve something? They engage their collective will. Revolutions happen. Prisoners are freed, dictators deposed, greedy corporations stopped dead in their tracks.

We have a prime example staring at us in 2016 USA politics. Two, nearly equally despised candidates vying for the highest honor in the land, the presidency of the United States. But, we cannot back down! Why? Our wills are engaged.

- You can find, right now, today, some of the most outrageous mental gymnastics being done by people convincing themselves that their support of one or the other doesn't violate their conscience, when it clearly does, but conscience is no match for will!
- Will, coupled with pride creates an unwillingness to see, or admit when you are wrong. This is a very powerful force! Imagine an army of will engaged people supporting your life's mission! It would happen, or you'd "die trying" right?
- But the collective will of the people to support an obviously failed system is evident too. What is happening is merely the logical outcome of how things have been run. Now that our will is engaged as a nation, we cannot even consider hitting pause while we readjust, the "peaceful exchange of power" must now take place on the arbitrary schedule set, or what will happen?

**So, how do you use this fearsome beast for your own good?**

To engage the will, you must believe that what you are after is not only right and good, but that it is something that needs to happen, that is meant to happen, that it is fate, essentially.

But, what if this is not true? Well, likely, it's not. After all, we each have billions of possible outcomes from each individual day we live, based on our choices and the choices of others, but here's the key, the brain does not know fact from fiction.

**Okay, now you've left the rails, Mark, you're talking crazy, I know the difference between fantasy and reality!**

![](http://i.imgsafe.org/f92a3ca496.jpg)

No, you don't. (I don't either, actually) Here, let me prove it again, ready?

Imagine a place that scared you as a child, not somewhere that something truly horrible happened, an otherwise safe space, that simply sent a chill down your spine just thinking of it.

What happened to you in that place, what did you experience? You were afraid, right?

- Your pulse increased, in a "fight or flight" response, to prepare you for defense or escape.
- Your senses seemed to become more sensitive. Every motion, every sound was perceptible and interpreted as a possible threat, right?
- The hair on your body stood on end, your throat tightened, you felt cold, you might have even trembled as if from shivering!

*But there was nothing there! There was no monster in the closet, under the bed, or down the hall! The attic was filled with musty boxes, nothing more. The monster in the basement was only the noisy heater!*

And now that you are grown, nothing has changed. If "facts" are presented and you sort them, comparing to other "known facts" and accept the information as "true" you will act, talk and think as if it is, even if it is complete fiction! Your brain cannot determine the one from the other, only compare with what it has experienced or learned.

**So, the childish you, in that scary place, you reacted just as if the danger was real and you can use this to your advantage!**

By focusing on something enough, it becomes a sort of reality to us. We begin to believe things about ourselves that might not be inherently true. This is the power of affirmation. It may not have the power to actually change the physical universe, but it can change the one inside your head!

Once you become convinced that something is right, true and good for you, you are in a position to engage your will. And, the more you reinforce this belief, the stronger your will becomes. In fact, if you decide upon a change of course after further information, disengaging your will is likely to bring a sense of regret over the thing you've "lost" that didn't even exist yet!

- Your focus and will have created an alternative to your current reality, one that you expect to move into at some point.
- Believing this helps us set aside fears and preconceived ideas, even those empirically based on our own experience. We believe ourselves capable of doing things that were previously impossible, because we believed they were impossible.
- This can go the other way as well. Will is what engages in a person's head when they decide they can fly, while high, or otherwise mentally incapacitated. Be sure that what you are convinced of is indeed healthy for you.**

By combining attention and will, you can become formidable in pursuit of your goals and dreams. Trust me, you are so much more capable than you have given yourself credit for.

**CAUTION!: I am not advocating self delusion! No, not at all.**

*Do not tell anyone that I said you can make yourself believe you are a surgeon and begin cutting on someone.*

I am merely suggesting that convincing yourself of your ability to learn, achieve, or accomplish something you have not done yet is an effective way to silence fears and remove mental and psychological road blocks to achievement.

It can also help you focus on possibilities and ignore perceived threats, or reasons that you might not succeed. Listening to too many objections in the mind will certainly cause you to disengage the will and stop moving toward your vision!

**Tomorrow, commodity number three will be revealed!**

I hope you are enjoying this as much as I am! What a fun topic. So, go out and set your will in action with your focus. You really can achieve so much if you "set your mind to it" (engage the will) even you can have more of what you want out of life.
