101 Questions You Need to Ask in Your Twenties: Book Review & Lessons Learned

Hello, my dear Hivers! Here I am again for another blog content. How's everyone doing? I hope you're still motivated enough to accomplish all your set goals for this month. Anyway, the blog that I am going to share today is another book review. This is going to be very interesting as well. Should we get started?

The book that I am talking about is a self-help book. Its title is 101 QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO ASK IN YOUR TWENTIES (and let's be honest, your thirties too) by Paul Angone. I actually finished reading it last 2021 and I decided to reread it again last 2022 since its content really resonated with me as someone who's already in my early 20s. This book is not mine, I just borrowed it from my sister's bookshelf. She's okay with me borrowing her books as long as I take care of them. So, a big thanks to my sister!

ALL ABOUT THE BOOK

This book contains meaningful questions one should know ranging from adulting, career, relationship, passion, purpose & calling. Moreover, the book can be someone's guide most especially if you're stuck and don't know the answers of all your unending questions. This book is a great help.

CONTENTS

I chose two questions from each category and I'll be sharing with you all the lessons I've learned from it.

LESSONS I LEARNED ON THE QUESTIONS ABOUT ADULTING

Q2: Let's be honest, each of us has our own fair share of struggles. Yet I would say, we are too good at hiding it and believe that what we are going through is ours alone. At some point, we have to realize that the struggles are present but please do know that it's okay to tap the help and comfort from others. Don't build your wall too high for people to not be able to extend their help. Remember you are not alone!

Q60: This question really resonates with me as I do have a lot of regrets. Do you know what's holding me back from doing it?—FEAR—the big word. Sometimes fear overpowers me and I can't just do something to save myself from those circumstances. How sad! Good thing, I'm learning to work on this weakness of mine. I took those little steps to do things that scares me as I don't want to die with so many regrets in my heart.

LESSONS I LEARNED ON THE QUESTIONS ABOUT CAREER

Q86: I've always asked myself this question. And thinking about the unknown, I feel so overwhelmed to answer. In life, I knew it's important to at least set some plans and targets but sometimes, it's also quite important to just let things be. Figure everything as you go as long as your intentions are pure of what you intend to be doing—you'll never go wrong.

Q101: This made me ask myself too. I've got a lot of plans that have been on the back burner for awhile, I just need an extra push to make it happen. I just need an extra reminder that there's no such perfect timing in doing things—I just need to do it even if I'm scared. Nothing worse than living your whole life with WHAT IFS.

Q6: This question made me contemplate that we should learn to love from my own strength and not from my own insecurities. There's so much growth one can achieve if the love stems from his/her own strength.

Q70: This question made me think that it is very important to heal yourself first before entering into a relationship. You have to make sure that you're no longer carrying any past traumas and insecurities that might affect the relationship you'll have. If you're not ready then learn to work on becoming better. By doing so, you're highly to attract like-minded individuals.

Q17: This question reminds me of the importance of sticking to my significant why. I know as I journey on making my dreams come true, struggles and distractions will sometimes block my path but —my significant why will keep me in my root. The journey would be extra meaningful if you're clear with your significant why.

Q51: This question is a great wake up call to me to stop complaining about different things in life. Championing this kind of behavior will never help—it will only make things worse. Instead, we should shift our minds from complaining to taking action. At least, whatever the result maybe—you've done my part.

MY REVIEW AND RATING
Overall, I would rate this book a solid 5 star. As someone who's also in my 20s, the 101 questions that surround about adulting, career, and the aspects that tackle signature sauce(passion, purpose & calling) helped me a lot in the best possible ways. I would love to reread this book again when times life would confuse me. You guys can also have a copy of this book and start your reading journey very soon. I can attest that it's truly worth reading.
