*It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important*, said the Fox to Little Prince, when they started conversation about friendship.

To tame somebody, she explained, means to let him (or her) just a little closer day by day... As he was feeling very alone in the Sahara Desert, he realised he is missing his rose. Even she was acting demanding and spoiled from time to time and she wasn't always perfect - her uniqueness and imperfection made her perfect - perfect for him, anyway.

*Just that, said the fox. 
To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. And you, on your part, have no need of me. To you I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in all the world. To you, I shall be unique in all the world....*

This epic dialogue is here to remind us to ask ourselves the right question: who are the people we *tamed* and did they manage to tame us, as well? And if it's true that friends are the family we choose, then this is a very important question. We do not walk the world with our heart on our palms, but we choose - wisely - who are people we let close, under our skin. And once we do, we give them a piece of our soul forever. And by giving, we only become richer. And just like Fox taught the Prince - essential things are not visible to the eye - *It is only with the heart that one can see rightly*.

Hope you enjoy this lonely rose covered with snow I caught today on my way back to Zagreb, as she is waiting patiently for her spring to come so she can reveal her true beauty - and, maybe, be tamed by some Prince.
