Isn't it strange that steemit with its great potential and raising members has (at least) one big problem. To my mind this is the reason why the steem price is no  higher.
Anyway it is strange that SBD is so much worthier than Steem which is converted in Steem Power an investment which has great potential to increase the fortune.

The problem of the Steem price is directly connected or better correlated with the height of SBD. **It is speculation!**
*There is no reason why the SBD is so high except that!* The Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum are rising so fast that it is just a bad idea to keep money in Steem, Steem Power or SBD. It is also due to speculation that the SBD is far too high.
This problem affects steemit because people do not like to invest in Steem and Steem Power and so the mighty upvotes always remains on the whales. You can get 100 upvotes for 34 cents or 1 Upvote for 100 $.
This problem can be issued by many people investing with small amounts of money as I have just to have some impact by voting.
But not many people are investing in Steem because they are making so much money through investing in only speculative currencies.

To limit this speculation it could be also useful to rethink the SBD-concept as I did here:
