The pundits said Bitcoin to 2k in 2017.... After Trump's pick for U.S Budget Director. I have gone from thinking Bitcoin will dump due to the segwit soft/hardfork blocksize debate thing to thinking Bitcoin may hit 2k before 2017 even starts. I'm not rushing to buy it after it just jumped about 100$ in 2 or 3 days but I am happy for everyone in crypto. BTC maximalists included, every new high Bitcoin reaches in marketcap is drawing the magic internet money crowd in to us. Like a zombie virus spreading from BTC speculator to Alt-coin hodler to the guy who "Still likes his fiat" and eventually converting him to one of the first two groups.

The title of this blog requires the qualifier "In the US" because the price of Bitcoin depends on the price someone is willing to sell it to you for. Local economics plays a large part in the perceived value of Bitcoin by a population. In the US we marvel at this run from 790 to 870 but in India it has been over 1k for weeks already. In Venezuela the price is all but irrelevant they mine Bitcoin for food.
