20 Years Raw Vegan Was Not Easy!

20 years raw vegan was not easy, but it was easy at the same time, because there was no other option in my mind…

After being 20 years 100% Raw Vegan, I now have complete control of everything I put in my mouth, without binging, and without over eating… In fact, I’m not even capable of doing these types of eating habits anymore…But let me tell ya… It wasn’t an easy path to get here… All the difficulties I had to go through in order to get here is discussed below…

There were many steps that I had to go through in order to get where I am today… Here are the steps…

1. Cooked Food
2. Binging
3. Sugar (Fruit) Addiction
4. Over Eating

1. Cooked Food – While this is the most difficult step for most people when trying to eat 100% Raw Vegan, this was actually the easiest for me… Don’t get me wrong, when I first went raw, I remember walking through the streets of NYC passing pizza joints and sushi bars and smelling the food and salivating, but my will and desire to do this new path was unbreakable. Furthermore, I would do colonics, which literally pulled the waste out that was created from the withdrawals of eliminating all the processed foods I used to eat.2. Binging – When I first went 100% Raw Vegan, I was not used to the empty feeling in my stomach from eating solely raw foods. I would find myself after eating dinner, which was my huge salad consisting of 5 avocados and 12 heirloom tomatoes, walking back and forth from the fridge endlessly, eating bee pollen, fruit or other foods uncontrollably.

I tried to eat in succinct meals without snacking in between, and I remember myself in the supermarket parking lot counting down the minutes when my next meal would come.

These continual thoughts sometimes took over my life as I was starving waiting for my nextmeal time. However, nothing was going to stop me on this 100% Raw Vegan lifestyle, I just lived in the moment without any expectation of overcoming this binging disorder… I didn’t even realize it was an issue at that moment lol… I just did my best and I had no idea that within another decade or so that I was going to have complete control over it like I do now…3. Sugar (Fruit) Addiction – This was the most painful and difficult step to get over. Most long-term raw food eaters stay in binging mode, because they don’t realize that high sugar is one of the major causes of it, which I will write an article on soon…You name it, my first meal of the day was some sort of high glycemic tropical fruit, such as figs, persimmons, mangoes, cherimoyas, sapotes, sapadillas, mamey, durian, etc. I was so crazy about it, I would even ship fruit down from Florida at times lol. My morning meal would consist of eating sugar fruit and nothing else. The only issue was that I couldn’t control myself, and there were times I would end up eating 5 – 8 pounds of sugar fruit in one sitting. The end result would be the nastiest smelling gas ever!

It was due to this gas that I wanted to get my eating habits under control…

Resisting temptation, succeeding by eating only 4 large persimmons, then failing the next day eating 12. The following only happened once, but I went to the farmers market and found the most crazy amazing tasting figs ever! It was like they had honey dripping out the bottom hole of the skin, and I couldn’t stop eating them… In the car ride home, I ended up burpingthem up and spitting some out window due to the fear of this type of horrible rancid digestion.Looking back on it all, all this was pretty much an eating disorder of some sort, but I needed to get through it to get where I’m at today. That’s a bit embarrassing to say!I may of had it easy with the first step of eliminating cooked food, but the rest was crazy and I didn’t even realize what I was going through at the time, as I considered it normal when I was in it. I’ve hung out with many raw food eaters, regular andyoutube stars alike, have this same sugar addiction, binging, eating issues… This probably stemmed from the sugar addiction I/we had from the Standard American refined sugar-filled food we ate in the past. At some point a decade later I just had enough of this rancid smelling gas, and digestive upset to where I gave up the high-glycemic sugar fruit…

It’s critical to understand that this type of sugar fruit creates this type of rancid smelling gas/waste in a clean human system, while fat and protein foods didn’t.

Obviously… that’s not good… This will all be in my next article, including the fact that I literally became younger after eliminating heavy amounts of sugar.4. Over Eating – Over many many years, over eating just disappeared. Eating 100% Raw Vegan doesn’t give that feeling of satiation as all other foods do. The way I successfully dealt with this is that I would eat huge amounts of the same food. It was more important for me to eat a huge amount of “bland” food, versus small amounts of “flavorful” food. I just wanted my stomach to get stuffed, which was the most important thing, and “bland” food, like my huge 4-ingredient salad did the job, while fancy raw vegan foods would cause digestive discomfort. After 20 years of sticking to all of this, I have no issues on any of these levels. Everything is effortless to me… Kind of like how a baby learns to walk. At first, you have to learn balance, to watch where you are going so you don’t run into things, etc, and then in the end, walking just becomes effortless…Lowering sugar intake was a huge factor in this success. I see other 20+ year Raw Vegans stillbinging on food and eating crazy amounts of high-glycemic sugar fruit, which I feel is part of the problem. It was the desire to be healthy, balanced, with optimal digestion, which gave me this success.

Now I’m on a mission to show the world what is possible eating 100% Raw Vegan in the most optimal way.

My digestion is perfect for me, my body feels incredibly good, and my mind is clear and as focused as can be. I feel extremely clean. Now I’m taking it to the next level with my physical body. I’m starting to take up more stretching, strength training, balancing, etc in order to show what a 100% Raw Vegan body is capable of.I want to get my body to the point of 100% fluidity with 0% stiffness, pain, etc. I’m already in a reallygood place, and stay tuned to what is coming next. I want to be able to gracefully take my body from one strenuous position to another without any effort, to show what an optimal functioning agile 100% Raw Vegan body is capable of…!
