CBOE says about 3,000 bitcoin contracts were traded. Low number but successful considering first day of future contracts.

For those who understand how contracts are traded you can just sense a disaster is in the making. Reason being is in option trading you do not necessary need the actual principle to trade the amount you are risking. Hence your can magnify your gains or losses. The losing part is what bankers do not really clarify all too well. Basically contracts are leverage trades. Be very careful before you invest in futures if you are not too familiar with them do not even bother learning about them. 

If it was hard enough to invest in the right cryptocurrency now there is futures contracts. Not sure why people are so hyped about it. My preference would have been trading the actual bitcoin on an exchange first but hey what do I know.
