# And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Colossians 3:17 says;
>>**And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.**

In our previous post, we showed from the Word, we can and should represent or better still ‘stand in the place’ of Jesus who lived his earthly life solemnly depending on the spirit of God which the father gave him without measure. Reading this verse carefully you realize that we are to live in His name. Paul says ‘and whatsoever we do in Word and deed’, we should do in the place of or in the person of, notice it, THE LORD JESUS’. Do you get the picture?



There is a difference between doing something in the place/person of Jesus, the man. That is and of its self huge, and doing something in the person of The Lord Jesus. The Lord Jesus is NOT just a name. It is a title, with authority.  A dear Pastor often says;
>>**there is a difference between a chair and throne**. 
 
Though the man Jesus lived an exceptional life, working in His place would have been an honour; yet The Lord Jesus is indicative of His supremacy.  You see after the Lord’s ascension, two important things happened; He was made to sit at the right hand of the Father and conferred with the Father’s authority. 

In other words, Heaven revolves around Jesus now.  The mention of His name causes Heaven to respond and His authority is supreme. Hallelujah!


When Paul said ‘do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus’, he not only reminded us of our place in Christ, but of the authority we wield. Make no mistakes about it, we do wield a tremendous amount of authority; because as He is, so are we in this life.

When should we walk in the person of the Lord Jesus? When we do everything; from washing dishes, to ministering to the sick; from driving to work, to our offerring of prayers for the lost souls and for the body of Christ, the church; from preparing meals for the family to distributing ministry materials; when someone is watching and when no one but God is watching. We stand in His sight and His place all the time. Therefore, let’s get doing!
