I knew all those stuffs were staged for Elon to keep his slate clean. All are business strategies and I think it has worked for him to a large extent. People are no longer aggressive like before! 
His stock was really going down the drain so they both needed to come up with a convincing strategy to halt it.

It is best to keep business away from politics.
