### Arabsteem So Far
_Just some quick info about our status, you can skip to the **Announcing Community Support Coalition** section directly_

As many of you might be aware, we've been running the @arabsteem initiative for over 6 months now, with the purpose of supporting and bringing more Arab-authored content to steemit, via providing free upvotes to quality curated posts.

#### Content Upvote
We have been, and on a daily basis, going through arab posts submitted to our [arabsteem discord](https://discord.gg/65cZmyY), and providing upvotes to content authored by arab users and that fits quality standards and requirements of steemit. Upvote ranges vary between 10-50% based on quality.

The upvotes are being cast by our @arabsteem curation trail to which we have 23 followers at the moment. This is a manual curation trail, which I personally follow, and includes arabsteem and several other members, whom we personally thank for such commitment to upvoting Arab quality content.

#### Daily Digest
We have also been creating a daily curation digest which includes the top 5 posts that were selected on each day, and which received a 50% upvote from the curation trail. This effort has been running for over 4 months now, and got to the 127th digest. On that occasion I would like to thank @abigail-dantes as always for her amazing support to our curation digest effort!

#### Delegation
At the moment, the arabsteem account doesn't have much delegation, and the only delegation to the account is from my personal account with around 500 SP. 
The community had received in the past a thankful 500SP delegation from @stellabelle but that is no longer available. Via all the effort done by the community over the months we were able to accumulate around 385 SP in the account itself which along with the current delegation provides the account with its voting value.

### Announcing Community Support Coalition
I have been constantly on the lookout for different means to further support arab content, when I had an idea to reach out to other communities and offer mutual support to quality curated content. 
The benefits of this are two-sided; the arab community benefits from additional upvotes from other communities, and vice-versa, other communities benefit from arabsteem community upvotes.

And this is what I did with **steemph(@steemph.antipolo)** and **sevenfingers(@sevenfingers)** who were happy with the idea, and we just officially kicked of the effort this morning!

**We are proud to announce that as of today we have successfully started a partnership with both communities on steemit, the purpose of which is to provide a higher upvote to best curated posts.**

#### How Does It Work?
On a daily basis, the top 3 selected posts from the arab community will receive an upvote from @sevenfingers and @steemph.antipolo accounts. 
Similarly, @arabsteem curation trail will also upvote top 3 curated posts from each of the communities as support to them.
The upvote value will be at 33% for each post, so that each community's selected posts would have received a total of 100% upvote from each of the other two communities.

We will continue posting our daily curation digest, and our top 5 pics will now feature a top 3 posts which would receive the additional upvotes.

### Take Away
We hope this initiative will bring the needed support to grow further the arab presence in steemit, but also it's the beginning to provide support to other undervalued and high quality content in other communities. 
Most importantly we aim for this to further motivate the communities to support high quality content, but also bring in more steemians to steemit for both the fun and the win !

We are happy to reach out and expand this initiative to other communities, and will be contacting other communities to offer similar support, on the hopes that we can expand our **Community Support Coalition**.
