#THE HANDWRITING
Death has never appeared to be really real unless it happens to a loved one of yours.You might see this as not too true but am glad a victim here who share with me this same feeling will really understand me from where am coming from..Today I share with all steemians a lovely but pathetic and hurtful personal true life story..Not because l want to put you in the same feeling which is always felt especially when l witness a death scene but I want to bring to the notice of the great and renowned men on this platform with the hopes that this serious act will gain a recognition and be duly addressed as soon as possible.Its a very sad news to hear.It hurts,it kills and put apart lots of homes of others.Maybe you are going to find sense in what am putting down when am through with you.
I have basically known and understand that sickness,accidents and other related disaters put people to death not until l got exposed to a very serious and shocking news which attributed to the cause of my mum’s death…Yes!!!One of The Secrete killers killed her…My mum passed on 31 Oct 2011 when l had completed University..Not so long ago..Check this out.
It's a shocking statistic that Doctors' sloppy handwriting kills more than 7,000 people annually across the world. And this is according to a July 2006 report from the National Academies of Science's Institute of Medicine (IOM)..Moreso preventable medication simple mistakes also injure more than 1.5 million Americans annually. Many such errors result from unclear abbreviations and dosage indications and illegible writing on some of the billions of prescriptions written by Doctors and other health practitioners across the globe in every year.This is so very common right here in some of the African countries which Ghana is of no exception..I am so much sorry to refer to health professionals as secret killers but my question is.. How could just a handwriting aid to the death of my mum and other innocent people whose presence on earth means a lot to someone else?There's no way am going to get convinced that Doctors are never aware of the results from their unclear abbreviations of dosage indications and illegible writing cause..l think they really are.
Fellow STEEMIANS,this is not to say that that’s exactly how all Doctors write. Far from that. I do believe there are some Doctors who really write legibly well but there are some who don’t and this what l want to bring to our attention with the hopes that we will save innocent lives especially here in Africa..It is really unfortunate it isn’t easy to afford a court case here in Ghana..This could be a case which l believe the Doctor whose Sloppy and Illegible Handwriting aided my mums death should be sued..I believe this happens in most of the advanced countries..Trust me that there are a lot more death cases where just a prescription by a health practitioner sent the patients to death but families do not have what it takes to take the matter on.
#THE BACKGROUND
Sometimes I am made to believe in just what we have always lived our lives with here in Africa Ghana..It may answer the series of questions l have always asked myself since l found out of the cause of my mums death.
Why do Doctors write sloppy?
Are Doctors lazy?
Are their schedules so tight?
Are their illegible writing deliberate?
Is that how they have been taught to write?
Is it also because they over work?
These crazy and rhetoric questions keep rolling on my lips and hoping to get answers to..Here in Ghana I remember very well that during our High School days and even still existence in this present days that Science Students are always serious. They have little time to play due to the nature of their course..
They do not spend time on dress and other fashion..They have always be tagged the most serious and brilliant students in almost all High Schools in Ghana..No wonder the just ended National Maths & Science Quiz(#NMSQ) on TV in Ghana featured only Science students..hahahaha..We barely see students from the other courses taking part..
Is it this myth surrounding the science course leads students who persue the course to a higher level to become so busy that writing even becomes a work for them?...I just wish am really putting down something which will get the attention of all readers to help save a life today..
Not withstanding that, l think the pharmacist also does great harm to us in that when a prescription is given they may provide a similar drug to you since he/she doesn’t really see the handwriting and doesn’t want you take your money home..But it all started with the writer of the prescription.. Admittedly not all doctor prescriptions are written as badly as stated, but people everywhere joke about it – doctors have terrible handwriting. It’s not just bad writing, much of it is impossible-to-read writing. But as you can see from my true story and submissions above, this is more than a bad joke. Lives are ruined and people are killed because of doctors having terrible handwriting.
#THE GENTLE APPEAL
This is so sad to notice that thousands of souls are dying and many people have also talked about this practice for ages.It feels really good to also find out that some Doctors have been prescribing electronically for years in the advanced countries and many still use pen and paper in some of our African couNtries…We hope and believe that we Africans all get used to prescribing electronically but making materials available in most of our various Hospitals.
Am also glad that steemit has provided the platform where can all share ideas and feelings.. Let me appeal to the great men and elites that it would be very good to see millions of Doctors signing up for lessons in good handwriting…If you really share this feeling with me then help me bring to the recognition of the world the bad handwriting wchich leads to the death of many African people and save innocent lives…My mum could be alive by now if not the inability of a health practitioner to wrongfully read a prescription.
