A little set of coffee stories for “The Coffee Shop Prompt”
The time has come and I finally found some time to join this community event. Up until now I was quite busy and didn’t post in HIVE at all. So let’s begin!

When thinking about travelling and coffee, I think that every trip is related to a story or experience related with coffee. I have decided to close the circle with three little stories about my coffee traveling experiences.

In chronological order, I’ll start with the furthest one. Maybe some of the people in the community know it, but it really deserves attention. It’s about the time when I dived into the specialty coffee and weird brewing gear for the first time. Japan was the place where my real coffee pssion was initiated.

Buying this Syphon that looks like a chemistry class apparatus, and the first specilty coffee bag of beans was like a heaven to me - a whole new experience full of interesting flavors and emotions. I’ll definitely never forget the moment I bought this experimental (for me) gear and my coffee faith changed forever.

The second little story is about my first trip with my wife-to-be. She was only my girlfriend back that time and we decided to go for a roadtrip that lasted about 10 days. We travelled across Croatia, Slovenia and Hungary and every day we slept in different city. Croatia was like a dream for us. Everything was excellent, starting from the food and finishing with the people’s hospitality and warm spirit.

Coffee was one of the things that made a beautiful impression on us. Croatia, being across the sea with Italy has a great influence about the coffee and espresso in particular. We had our tastiest espresso one of the mornings before we were supposed to leave for the daily ride.

The coffee was not only extra delicious, but also extremely cheap. And the barista that was working in the morning shift allowed us to take the porcelain cups to the place we booked for the night. Such a nice compliment, which we will remember forever. The place was just on the outskirts of Split. If we have the ability, we will definitely go to croatia again.

The last little story is from our last roadtrip, when we drove across Italy, Slovenia and Serbia. On our way towards Italy we booked a ferry, which departed from Igoumenitsa, Greese and took us to Brindisi in Italy.

This exact ferry had a night time route and because we didn’t want to book a room, we ended up with a sleepless night. The AC inside was quite strong so we were cold as well. With the first sundays we decided to go outside and enjoy the little sunlight. We were so impatient to get out of this big boat and when we reached the land, the first thing that we went seeking was a nice place to enjoy our morning coffee.

I remember the exact location of this Cafe that was bear the yacht bay of Brindisi. The coffee was quite well enjoyed with the gentle heat of the summer sun.

After a short coffee and breakfast we had a walk around the bay and then departed towards out first hotel booking im Bari.

It’s great that there are so many stories related with coffee and maybe none brings particularly bad feelings. Maybe we tend to forget the unlucky situations and remember vivdly the ones who brought joy to us…

So that’s all from me… See you soon and have a nice day!
