My collection of junk
I've thrown away so much in the past few weeks, I simply can't believe my eyes. I mean, some of the things I've been keeping make absolutely no sense. Old manuals, coupons for things I'll never buy, and things of the sort. Of course finding these things and throwing them away is no big deal, but I'm wondering how did it get this out of hand.

For as long as I remember I've been a tinkerer of things. I loved and still do to disassemble everything that comes my way. Watches, phones, computers of course, motors, you name it. If I own it, there is a very good chance I've taken it apart a few times for curiosity or to "fix it", please note the air quotes there. And it's precisely because of the second reason that I have so many extra parts.

<i>What's this for?</i> - "Oh, that's good stuff.... that is the controller board for the DC motor that was on the treadmill, I need that". "<i>Why do you need it?</i> "Well, I'm going to build a radius sander for fretboards, and I have an idea for that motor... without the controller I can't use it, because it's DC". <b>Repeat this line of reasoning for hundreds of different things over the course of 4 years, and here we are today</b>.

I know what you might be wondering at this very moment. Have I not built things? am I all talk? Do I not fix things around the house? Well of course I have, of course I do, but out of the machines I've built or modified over the past years, there are hundreds and this is no exaggeration of projects I never finished.

So yesterday, in a moment of brutal honesty with myself, I threw away "muh stuff". Lots of little parts and trinkets, so that bulk could remove the possibility of me using them from my life. Woke up this morning, looked outside and.... they are gone.... <b><i>"that was a powerful pump motor there... dammit"</i></b>

At any rate, it's necessary and it can't be delayed anymore. Can't take my junk with me and I'm going to repeat the <b>junk</b> as a descriptor until I stop feeling like I lost something....
