In my opinion, these things are a major roadblock to Steemit achieving its full potential.  Newbies like me are immediately put off by the idea that others are resorting to such trickery and buffoonery in order to get credit (and financial incentives) they have not earned and do not deserve.

The Steemit community should be priding itself on QUALITY and REAL content, and on an egalitarian/merit-based rewards system.  Our COMMON REPUTATION is tied up in whatever you whales decide is equitable and representative of the common effort here.  I do not really want to be associated with a site known for condoning bots, multiple accounts, mail-order bride accounts, pure spam accounts, serial plagiarizers, etc.

We have some real work to do here folks, to clean this place up so that our COMMON REPUTATION SCORE can be high enough to succeed in the competitive ethersphere.
