### Sariaya, Quezon Province .... July 20, 2019

### Hello Dear Steemians! Today, I will continue with my philippine travel log... In this post, I will be sharing a typical beach mostly frequented by the locals on weekends. It is in a town called Talaan, a small district in Sariaya. It does not have white sands like those you might have seen in advertisements of beaches in the Southern part of the Philippines.

In the absence of the white sands, it seemed that this beach is a favorite among the locals. It has all what every visitor needs to enjoy and have fun with their families and friends..a huge swimming pool, private cottages that you can rent at a reasonable price, a restaurant, bar and playground for kids. Each sitting area has a shade and a barbecue just in case a grilling party is intended by the visitors.

We participated in snorkeling and took a boat that got us to a deeper part of the sea that was around 1 Km away from the beach. The boat had been a fisherman´s boat being rented to guests on weekends. It is one way for the local fishermen to earn extra income over the weekend. On weekdays, they would normally use the boats for fishing. The fishermen community created life jackets that were sewn and filled with styrophor... It is of course primitive but very effective. The group of fishermen renting out their boats for transport were not part of the Resort.

The area of the sea where the boat took us was somewhat fixed, guided by a bouy and was just around 14 meters deep. While snorkeling, I saw different corals and sea urchins that were darker in color (not white as what I used to see). The fare we paid for each person back and fort was 100 Php (approx. 2 USD) and I gave the boat guy a tip of 100 Php.

###
We actually didn´t want to swim, but we obliged ourselves to do so since the water was warm. At the end of the day, we were glad we did swim and had fun.
###
Have a nice start of the week!!!

Banner by @gremayo
