I thought by week 5 of my 52 week challenge of opening a Chaos pack each week would be the joyous moment when my loss turned into a profit. Oh, how the disappointment has settled upon me!

I am opening 52 packs in 52 weeks of Splinterlands Chaos Legion. I purchased the packs at around $2.25 on Tribaldex, which is a great discount from the retail price of $4 a pack on Splinterlands, but not nearly as good as this week's price of $1.80 on www.tribaldex.

At week 5, the question remains will I have a profit at the end of the year? The return on this pack was only $0.83. That's another big OUCHIE!

The cumulative cost at this point is $11.25, while the return is only $5.29. This week included a gold card of Carrion Shade which has some rental value. So that will go on the rental market to start earning a little DEC. At 0.8 the card will generate 292 DEC in a year which is $0.17 at current market rate. I am not including potential earnings on cards, but maybe that will be added in as I continue.
