The protagonist in Leila Aboulela’s The Translator  moves into a Western  territory as a translator,   engaging with  a new culture ,and resisting Western’s tropes . In order to delve into issues of migration, Aboulela confronts Orientalist and Western hegemonic discourses which vilify Islam; therefore, this thesis aims to investigate how  Aboulela uses  translation as mean to write back to  colonialism  and to show how Islam can play a crucial role in governing the life of Muslims in diaspora.
