Start from scratch - Organic Individual Raspberry Crumble
Starting from scratch.

Part 1
Plant raspberry canes and wait a couple of years.

Part 2
Make a compote by boiling fresh raspberries, straining the fruit to collect the juice, add brown sugar and reduce (simmer) until it's a concentrate.

Part 3
Pick raspberries before the birds get to them - be quick or they'll have half your crop - and I mean *literally* half your crop.

Forget the part numbers and go with the flow...
Collect the fruit, soak for a couple of hours (the fruit, not you) and wash gently. You have to be gentle, they're not called 'soft fruits' for nothing, it really is easy to wash them away under a fast-running tap.

Take a dozen or so of the most perfect raspberries - actually, don't worry if they're symmetrical and gorgeous, you're just going to cover them and boil them in their own juice anyway, just choose those without grubs inside, and / or dried, gnarly parts on the outside.

Flour and brown sugar in equal measure and a half measure of butter - basically, this is the recipe a 2-2-1 in measure. Whatever you use, you need half the butter.
