How to use Typora to write for Steemit
# Typora is awesome!

## WTF is Typora & Why should I care?

[Typora](https://www.typora.io/) is a cool, very easy to use, WSYWIG text editor that uses markdown languange. I can write professional looking stories and afterwards just copy and paste into the steemit editor for publishing.

# How do I use it?

Its simple! Just start typing text.

# Headers!

Play around with different headings

### Check this out!

#### Isn't this awesome?

##### Yeah! It's prety awesome.

# Tables!

Tables are easy to use! Here's a game **of TIC-TAC-TOE**

|  x   |      |  o   |
| :--: | :--: | :--: |
|  x   |  x   |  x   |
|  o   |      |  o   |

# Code fences!

Code fences are great for nerds like me that might want to write about computer programming!

```C++
#include <beer.h>
int main(void)
{
  Beer beer;
  bool drunk = false;
  if(beer == null){
    beer = new beer();
    beer.type = "Pineapple Sculpin";
  }
  else
  {
  	while(!drunk)
  	{
  		if( beer.count < 5)
  		{
          beer.drink();
          beer.count++;
        }
      	else
        {
        	drunk = true;
      	}
    }
  }
}
```

# Quotes

Quotes are awesome!

> To be or not to be! That is the question.

# Task Lists

Action items for then underpants gnomes**

- [ ] Steal Underpants
- [ ] ???
- [ ] Profit.

# How do I insert images?

This requires some trial and error, but I figured out a trick.

It'll take a little bit of setup and organization but... I promise its easy!

1. Use an image hosting service like [steemimg](http://www.steemimg.com/)

2. Upload the images I would like to add to my story.

3. Drag and drop an image into typora

   (Erm… Maybe this **ONLY** works with PC because I tested it earlier today on my machine at the office and it worked just fine. I'm currently trying to do this with my MAC at home without success. Note that Typora for MAC is still in BETA stage so we'll let it slide)

   1. **Workaround**: The cool thing is that steemimg gives me the markdown embed code so all I did was copy and paste it.
   2. ![IMG_20161209_193154ef1ba.jpg](http://www.steemimg.com/images/2017/02/07/IMG_20161209_193154ef1ba.jpg) This was easy :D

   # Its time to publish

   After I finish editing the document I'd like to submit a story to publish to steemit.

   1. In steemit: Click on submit story
   2. In steemit: Add a cool title
   3. In Typora: Write all the content.
   4. In Typora: Switch to Source Code mode
   5. In Typora Copy all typora source code
   6. In steemit: Click on Markdown to switch editor to markdown mode.
   7. In steemit: Paste typora source code into steemit editor
   8. In steemit: scroll down to view preview of your content.
   9. In Typora: Switch back to Normal mode.
      1. Fix any issues. Go back to step 3.
      2. If good enough. Go to step 9.
   10. In steemit: Add tags
   11. In steemit: Submit post!
   12. In real life: Do the happy dance!

## How to work with Images (PC Only)

Typora works a lot better on PC (probably because the MAC version is still in BETA) and working with images is like a dream come true. I say this because there are no annoying embed codes involved.

**All you have to do is Drag n' Drop**!

# My favorite ways to work with images

1. I organize all of the photos I'm going to use.
   (This is a random image from pinterest)

2. In Google photos I created a new photo album and added my images

3. And I shared my album to make it public![img](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/EipaXA860HDoUe-ekH8UjGhJgallTJzwdrhv9XtyiFB9wMiNje2NlF2P84q4IWzvaMpacWNx5-rN_SXl6MM1hAeXQZYtQqdqi4Td0PFX2-QO0wv3yTyAeq5rOOpgAEYznWbBMP0jpUjlTTjHwJuWmxpPnsclilGdOqKyHwTaIWLa-zvBVmMsZA4HFCWyIh44Ff6mwXVSHrUZSmjGqACB_RYOZX7JE52zk3m63WSGh2RCnLwoW1BwvfL2PZzwxqwjDz_vC0XnlRzUTuP4dtFB-RwlPpbIteIpL-8hklqvGfH-bTerRwF3mnxQmNObodcFHbvwm6kfFIk0vai4eXJRN26OElyx3ASK3EuEpflTvTiROfKO49XaV6bW7mDE7EhGEgbkk3wo-6vuzhKvxBcX7-Btg6W4Sh5-l2fdFfpGDYRxqycLJjqeBTcusdiSzIr0eAftAQ6l1jcXGY2tyyUgu1H9QwR13ieQ_EfW7hJ0GMn7biNn3lxUoabx_0o4YXEG6-Gpec23nbloAgElFP0Z8Nwemu4KQeS6uAMVfiXP2YnvJ_CscScThSyxkSTI7-jJJOHQHB80VHyVdtlLdmhG1CGlqH6VcNqeoJ-DwwCOGiiTj2JF6BK0rTuVrgyXyA9a1WxqPTEWrw3UeCbzsPJNkia3B8ZANg_dnfDhGaf1pS4=w904-h743-no)

4. That's all there is to it.

# Done!

I'm curious to learn about how a lot of you upload your images to steemit.
