My daily coin for today is the third in what I call my Chinese trifecta ! This large silver coin is the second of the Chinese "dollars " to immortalize Dr. Sun Yat-Sen one of the founders and first leader of the People's Republic of China.This coin is 39 mm in diameter and weighs in at 26.9 grams and was originally struck in 1912 this version of the coin was struck in
 1927 .  In 1949 the Canton Mint restruck Memento dollars.
This coin features a simple reeded edge !

 There are modern restrikes in red copper and brass. The reverse side of the coin has the denomination “one yuan” (壹圓) written vertically in the middle.

The obverse of this coin displays the profile of Dr. Sun Yat-sen facing to the left , the first president  of the People's Republic of China.
