# Ssshhh! A new culture of silent dating, silent retreats and even silent restaurants is rising.  There is even a new film that aims to promote the spreading of this word. This film is called 'In Pursuit of Silence' and is an inside view into the world of quiet. This was once the preserve of Indian yoga teachers and candle meditators, but the film is an attempt to take it all to a wider audience. Silence is golden, but this can mean different things to different people. It can be a space of inner peace or a state of agitation for some individuals.  ## I myself practice candle meditation weekly, and have found it improves both my concentration and mental powers on Steemit. I recently moved from 4 articles a day down to 2 only. When I sit down to candle meditation, I feel peaceful in myself, as well as noticing new ideas coming into my head as I do it - hence I always keep a pad of paper close to write them down. In our modern society silence has taken on a new meaning. We are mass consumers of information these days, and some days pass without us being able to keep our mouths shut. **We need to find an inner peace and the pleasure that comes from a fully silenced zone, but this can come at the price of finding a stronger will to implement it.
