# I'd say a big fat YES! OK so we all know the Intel i7-4790K is a faster single core overall, but its price makes our Pentium a lot more fun to overclock with!  When overclocked to 4.8Ghz, the Pentium G3258 is one of the fastest single threaded Intel cores that money can buy. The i7-4790K may have more L3 cache at 8MB, but who cares about that right? Even when overclocked to 4.4GHz, I found even the Athlon X4 750K can't match the single-threaded performance of my Pentium wonder chip! Jesus!
