Why everyone's experience of the world of Steemit is different.
# Many perspectives, many truths
***
We all come onto Steemit with different life experiences. No shock there then. There are as many different backgrounds, belief systems and personalities on Steemit as there are atoms in the universe, and all this does shape the way we interact with Steemit.

But we also have interconnected beliefs on this platform, and for a lot of ancap Steemians that's what truth is. Look at the success of the recent #steemfest2 in Lisbon. These are mutually supported beliefs without group think.

## Enter the postmodernists
***
On the other hand radical postmodernists would differ here in their radical subjectivism and believe that the truth can only occur within the individual - hence the rise of identity politics. The ancaps here are silenced as the individual is no longer the main subject. "Community agreement" is the order of the day and truth is shifted from the individual to group think. This is then wielded as power without debate to seize some form of control from government or other rival groups.

Philosophy has always loved wisdom, and has always leaned towards the practical rather than the theoretical. No philosophy education is needed to use Steemit, as many people get by without knowing or thinking about truth.

This is because Steemit imposes itself upon a lot of people, rather than a theory of how it should all operate from a truth level. As I've said in the past, the role of philosophy is to destroy our idols. Not that we want to hurt Steemit, but to make it stronger around its weakest links. I've tested Steemit to it's limits in the past in the search for truth. Truth that very few would even look for or even acknowledge.

*Bottom $: Your view of truth matters on Steemit. One can find truth both inside postmoderism and outside of it depending on the subject: politics, ethics etc. It seems we all have a truth for the practical things and one where the theory kicks in. Once we learn to navigate and dip into both we'll have greater responsibility to our own fellow Steemians.*

Steem on!
