 I have to confess, I am not really a sporty type lately. From my daily schedule, even those slight physical activities like jogging, Zumba hours or fitness slots disappeared a long time ago. I wanted to start again with the Zumba thing at the beginning of this year, but there were no gyms that offered it anymore in my town. At least, walks are here to not let me become too lazy. Luckily, I do live in a beautiful place where I can opt for a walk by the seashore, on the hill, taking the path to the lighthouse, among the orange plantations and orchards, in the town or going to the nearby mountains where the air is fresh. Summer is a bit tricky here, the heat is not helping at the moment when you decide to go for a walk. But the evenings and early mornings are always an option to do that.  Even these nice routes can become a bit monotonous when we walked there hundred and hundred of times and know them already very well. Then we try to find new paths, new places or explore other towns for these walking activities. A warm day is not a problem then, somehow everything becomes easier.  Searching for new spots, crossing bridges and rivers, streets, houses, buildings, and landscapes.. all these activities are what are giving new energy and motivation. ***Puente de la Feria***, from the photo above, is a new place to cross for the walking feet. And the river that is heading toward the sea, ***Riu Serpis***, makes its curves around the city of ***Gandia*** to offer some nice views. For sure, something new to see, even if I am used to a bit bigger river, like the Danube. But to be clear, nothing to complain about here either!  This is supposed to be a river bed too, on the other side of the town. It is common here in Spain to see these "barrancos" (the translation is giving me the English word ravine, but this is not a big natural ravine). One part of it is still just a dry river bed, but close to the centre and one school, it is concreted, so when it suddenly rains a lot (which sometimes happens and floods a part of the city), that water is channelled and the city is protected. This channel also leads to the sea, which is located not far from the city.  Apparently, we have a dry season right now, but springs and autumns can surprise us with a lot of quantity of water, all suddenly. Seems that Gandia is nicely protected now from the floods.  And how a walker can protect itself from the sun and a warm day, if there is no rain to bring a swimming session on the streets? The answer is easy, we all know that. Trying to find a shade among tall trees and buildings...  ..or find that shade in a park.  That is always a good choice, believe me. But just in the case that the park has big trees that can offer you that shade. Palm trees are nice and all, but what we really need is some bigger trees with a dense canopy.  That is already better, and counting with a bench to sit on is already called perfection. P.S. No, that Hello Kitty badge is not mine. But seems that teenager people and their friends like to decorate their backpacks ;D
