 A friend asked me about Hive earlier and for the first time I was speechless for the first few seconds, having lived through how Hive has evolved over the months I wanted to say you see, *Hive is a land of opportunities*, but then it’ll sound too fictional, I wanted to say *Hive is a blogging platform*, but that merely only scratches the surface of what Hive is, I wanted to call it a social media platform, it seemed close enough but being a social media platform is only a piece of the pie. I just dropped my head and said, Hive is a world of its own that offers different functions to different areas of interest, either a dev, creative or gamer, Hive provides the services that anybody could benefit from. Hive makes people into different levels of investors. Hive is also a community. Ofcourse I didn’t say all of this so I don’t begin to sound like a dystopian bot but I noticed that the part that stuck was where I said Hive offers different functions to different areas of interest. This was the first time in a while that what I said didn’t just enter from one ear and leave through the other, so this friend was interested in gaming and what better way was there to show him other than delving into Splinterlands! Well, I’m glad to say I successfully onboarded a gamer to Hive through Splinterlands. A gamer, soon to become a blogger as he shares his experiences through Splintertalk blog and enters for Splinterlands writing challenges. A gamer soon to become an investor as he picks up level graded NFT cards to battle with in the arena and grows his collection of cards and other Splinterlands assets from winning battles and inherently accumulates Hive assets. A gamer soon to become a proponent of decentralization as he comes to the realization that the technology that hosts his favorite application has no central authority and every user is inherently an owner. The funny part is that he’ll go on to become an Hive evangelist voluntarily, pretty much like all of us already here, lol, and the most interesting part of this is that all of it will come naturally, I’ve seen this happen time after time after time. Hive, what the hell is Hive? Lol, the best answer to that is left for each person to discover, but on a very basic level, Hive is an ecosystem of several applications that cater to different types of interests.
