I write about the future of finance and technology, when I say this many people think I’m in my head again but it’s true because I’m mostly living in this future. There’s a juxtaposition of realities whereby my present reality is in the future for most yet we are living in the same dimensional reality. Talking about Web3, blockchain, DeFi, [NFT,](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-non-fungible-token-nft) these terms are mostly gibberish to many, the other day, a friend from the abroad told me he was having a [blockchain](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/blockchain) class and finding it difficult, the thing is while some are studying it, others are living it, how sweet will it be to study it and live in it at the same time. 

# Everyday Life in a [Decentralized](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-decentralized-finance-defi) World

My go to social media apps are from the future, built on the cusp of Web3, talking about [InLeo](inleo.io) and [Hive,](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-hive-backed-dollar-hbd) talking about ownership of my data, monetization of my engagements and full control of my account. My favorite games are built on the cusp of Web3 where I own my in game items as NFTs, games in which Im part of the [DAO](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-decentralized-autonomous-organization-dao) through the stakes I earn and vote with on the direction of development in the game.

This intersection of technology and everyday life is not just a matter of convenience or novelty; it's a fundamental shift in how we interact with the digital world. In Web3, the concept of ownership takes on a new meaning. Here, your data, your creations, and even your online interactions hold tangible value.

# [DeFi: The New Finance](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-decentralized-finance-defi)

Not everyone is aboard this futuristic finance train, though. The barrier isn't just about access; it's also about mindset and understanding. Traditional finance systems have deep roots in our society, and for many, the leap into a decentralized, blockchain-driven world seems daunting. It's like looking at a skyscraper when you've only ever known single-story buildings.

Moreover, there's a gap in knowledge. While some of us are navigating these new financial landscapes with ease, others are still trying to wrap their heads around the basics. This disparity isn't just a matter of education; it's about exposure and willingness to embrace change. It's one thing to read about blockchain or DeFi in a textbook; it's another to use it for daily transactions or investments.



This digital divide extends beyond finance into the realm of social media and gaming. Platforms like InLeo and Hive are avant-garde, offering a glimpse into a world where users have true ownership and control over their content and data. But for the majority, traditional social media platforms still reign supreme, largely because they're familiar and straightforward.

Similarly, the concept of owning in-game items as NFTs or participating in a game's [DAO](https://inleo.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-decentralized-autonomous-organization-dao) is revolutionary. Yet, it remains a foreign concept to most gamers, accustomed to conventional gaming ecosystems where in-game assets remain tethered to the game itself, with no real-world value.

# The New Future 

So, why aren't more people living in this future? It boils down to comfort zones and the human tendency to resist change. The transition from Web2 to Web3, from centralized to decentralized, requires a paradigm shift—a willingness to step into the unknown and embrace a new way of interacting with technology and finance.

The future I'm living in is about a different way of thinking and interacting with the world. It's about a future where autonomy, privacy, and ownership are not just ideals but realities. And while it may take time for the rest to catch up, the journey is as exciting as the destination. Sometimes it’s boring but I’m glad the community I’ve  found on Hive makes it easier for me to not look like a crazy fellow, we are all crazy together 😂and I love them and their crazy.
