Cars cemetery

Near the Belgian village of Châtillon it is now the cemetery of vintage cars. His story is also fascinating and mysterious, like the phenomenon of abandoned cars in the middle of the forest.

These cars belonged to the American soldiers coming to guard this region. At the end of the Second World War, troops based here were sent home. Everyone had a car, but nobody can't take it home - delivery amount for car's was excessive even for the richest officers.

Local authorities have decided to leave the cars in Belgium to better times. Machines were neatly hidden over the hill, one after another, nicely parked between tall pines, one way or another, have been concealed from the outside world.

Back home in the United States, local authorities offered the soldiers smuggle their cars. A key condition was the obligation to take personal responsibility for all the shipping costs and delivery. Of course, nobody was found. Cars still standing in the middle of the forest to nowadays...

According to rumors, such cemeteries in the Chatillon district was four, and it is about 500 vehicles from the Second World War. Unfortunately, time has an effect - most of cars were corroded by corrosion, and what's left of them were plundered by the locals and collectors of vintage cars.

As for me, the rest of the cemetery need to be taking into its custody, as a remind of history, making this place a national park.

Throwing the military atmosphere it present here some romantic notes. Just imagine this escape in a hurry, still brand new, just released from the conveyor, solders parked its cars under the trees and running to their ships...
