I always wanted to watch India playing in the World Cup tournament and my dream fulfilled on Sunday at Kia Oval in London. 

I applied for the tickets and was unsuccessful in the ballot. I kept my hopes and was constantly checking for any late tickets. The price was £1458 per ticket for the match against Australia and it was way over my budget of £400.

On Sunday I woke up at 4am in the morning and luckily someone put 2 platinum tickets as he had an accident and can’t attend. The tickets were priced at face value at £235. I grabbed them. However I had to collect the tickets from Basingstoke which is a hour and half drive and I didn’t mind it at all.

I was late to the match by 45 mts but not much happened as India had a slow start. The atmosphere was electrifying in the stadium and it was an excellent match with over 650 runs scored and more importantly India beat Australia. The weather was great, didn’t rain when the matches are being abandoned due to rain.

It was a memorable and lifetime experience and I got to see some of the cricket legends Sunil Gavaskar, VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly, Waqar Younus, Phil Tufnell and world cup winning former Australian captain Michael Clark (pup). I must say I was very lucky and thank god for this wonderful opportunity.
