**Why is it Precious?**
While I was called up for my one year mandatory Youth Service (NYSC) in 2017, I had in mind to strive hard to get myself a very important item as a gift to signify my involvement in the scheme. Although when I started NYSC I wasn't too sure of what to gift myself because my phone got spoilt during that time but along the line I made up my mind on what to get.

Before graduating, I started learning sewing, so I had it in mind to continue during my NYSC which I did. At the tail end of my service year, I concluded that buying a sewing machine would be the perfect gift I can give myself and I started saving for it.

It was a very tough decision because my allowance then was 19,800naira (less than 20$ now) and I serve in far away Delta state, Asaba precisely where I don't know anybody while I'm from Kwara State, but with discipline and God's help I was able to save up to achieve my aim.

Immediately I got back home in November 2018, I went straight to the market with an elderly seamstress I know to get a brand new manual sewing machine. My parents were surprised when I told them what I intend to do with my NYSC savings, they were both proud that I can proposed such a wonderful thing.

So my Dad volunteered to drive us to the market so that it will be easier for us to transport the machine home. I bought my precious manual sewing machine that day and I was super proud of myself for having it. I cherish this machine so much because it brings back the memories of my service year.

Since then I've been sewing all my dresses by myself and that of my family members with my machine and I'm grateful I made that decision five years ago cause presently the hike in prices of goods and services had made what I bought 32,500 naira (about $32 now) in 2018 to be almost 90,000naira (about $90 now). I'm glad I bought my precious sewing machine with my money without anyone contributing a dime to it.

>*The second item that's precious to me is my **Power Bank***.

The reason its my important belonging is that my beloved country Nigeria doesn't have a stable electricity supply. So almost all of us here possesses a power bank to help ourselves so as to be to make use of our phone and other gadgets.

I can't do without my power bank, it's an item you will definitely find in my bag any time any day. I take it everywhere and I charge it anywhere I see electricity supply once we don't have supply at home.

I also bought this power bank with my money and it has been helpful to me. Once I'm financially bouyant, I will get a solar light fix in my house so that I will have 24/7 uninterrupted electricity supply. Till then, my Power Bank still remains valid.
