A few months ago we spent a week in the mountains of Cumbria in the north of England. I posted some of the images that I took of the mountains and the various lakes including Windemere for #mountainmonday initiated by @keithboone and #monochromemonday initiated by @old-guy-photos

The series was cut short due to time issues but will now resume. So if you like mountains, lakes and stories about bunny rabbits? Stick around.

The interesting thing for me after this length of time. Is that I am seeing details in the photos that I was not aware of before.

Like this image below with a church spire, the gate and the hand built stone walls trailing across the mountains which are a distinct feature of this landscape.

This photograph above was taken from Wray Castle high up in the mountains which was the holiday home of Beatrix Potter. You can imagine her standing on the battlements and looking down the valley and thinking about the lives of the wildlife and people of the area.

What did Beatrix Potter see down there that fired her up so much that she just went and changed the world? All theories in the comments please. I do have the official version which will be posted soon.

I will do a post about Beatrix Potter and the time that she spent at Wray castle. I have many photos of the interior of the castle.
