# Hello Hive This year's farming has been coming on very well and with so much ease that it is possible to grow almost anything. Once you are lucky enough to get good seeds and farmable land, the rest is left for us to put in a little hard work and be sure of a quality harvest. A few days ago some of these peppers here were drying up as little grasses were choking up the plant. At first we had thought that it was some erosion from excessive rainfall that has passed by this place since the pepper farm is located in a valley. Sometimes heavy rainfall causes the place to be flooded, but due to the fact that the land is very fertile here, we take the risk to grow the ๐ถ๏ธ๐ถ๏ธ๐ถ๏ธ๐ถ๏ธ here. Aside from that, there were some grasses actively growing and almost choking up the crops before we began to weed the farm manually and cleared up the grasses. As soon as that was done, there wasa remarkable difference in the growth of the plant. Some of the peppers are coming up with new flowers, which means greater fertility chances and growth. Mind you, it is always better to weed out grasses in pepper and vegetable farms manually instead of using chemicals. Most of these peppers and vegetables are very weak compared to staple crops, and a single application of chemicals, regardless of the concentration of the chemicals, often affects peppers. Another possible negative side effect of the use of chemicals on vegetables is its direct implications on human health. Vegetables are often eaten directly, and sometimes we don't cook them properly before eating. Anyone can mash some pepper into their food, and the different ways we eat these peppers when chemicals are applied to crops and these are harvested almost immediately, there is a likelihood of transfer of harmful chemicals from the veggies to human systems. Staples like corn take a longer time to grow and reach maturity, and often these are blended and processed before consumption, reducing the chemical concentration in these crops before consumption. For some vegetables like spinach, jute mallow, and lettuce, we totally avoid the use of chemicals, preferring to go through the pain of manual weeding. Although you may want to apply chemicals to okra or peppers that have grown really tall above the ground like these ones, ensure that these crops spend quality time in the farm after the application of the chemicals and that there were some consistent downpours of rain on the veggies before they are harvested for consumption. After the weeding, these peppers have all come to life. The okra continue to flourish as well because of the abundant rain and fertile soil.
