# Hello Hive 


Am here with another update on the progress of our beans plantation and I guess from these pictures you can see that our crops are thriving well.

The rains have stopped since the month of November but beans does not require much of rainfall at this time. 
Dews and a cold weather is enough to sustain the farm. 
The only challenge we have now is pest and insects destroying the leaves and hence the whole plant can wither if something is not done . 


After complaining about it here I got suggestions that I could use soapy water and sprinkle these in the farms instead of using inorganic chemicals that may have side effects.

But I guess you can see that we  have such a large plantation and am a bit skeptical about the soap,  it can work well but we may need to try this on a small piece first. 

The farm was getting  severe damage already and we needed to arrest this with this chemical.

This specific chemical controls insects in wide variety of crops as seen in the body of the container. 
Pest control as such helps increase yield and bigger seed size. 

Instructions on how to mix the chemical with water and spray across the farm is written on the labels.

And my dad here does exactly that,  then carries the chemical on his back and spray all over the farm in rows so as not to forget any other spot.  

Spraying can be done two to three times. 

This is out first spraying and in a weeks time we repeat the same process. 

Remember that this beans carries only a two moth cycle and after that timing and the spraying we can begin harvesting the green beans for food while allowing a part to dry as well. 


So far so good our beans plantation is yielding quality harvest.
