<div class="text-justify">Hello Homesteaders and Farmers, it’s a new morning and I hope that we have woken up revitalized and refreshed to carry on yet another days work in our farms

Today I wil be sharing with us the different methods we often employ while planting our rice grains, it is important to learn and know these details if we want proper yield from our farms. You shouldn’t plant the wrong specie of rice at the wrong time or in an unfriendly weather conditions, this will affect the productivity of your crops and in order not to labor in vain in the farm I share with you some guide from my own experience.

All of these guide are from my personal experiences over the years and will be useful for anyone intending to go into rice farming.

Taking a decision or wether to plant or transplant your rice grains depends on the amount of moisture content in the soil. During periods of heavy rainfall when the field is full of water we often transplant rice in the swamp since it is very clear that you can no longer plant at this time. The grains will get rotten instead of planted under water logged fields. But at a time when the ground is dried like this type you should equally know that transplanted rice cannot survive

Here is what our transplanted rice looks like weeks after we have transplanted them. Although we did this task in a field full of water but because there has been no rain for over a month now the field became dried and our rice are struggling to survive

Since we still had other portions of the field yet to be worked on we decided to plant the rice the rice instead of transplanting since there is no water covering the ground

After planting a minimum of 6days and the rice will begin to germinate. Hopefully these will survive until we eventually have some downpour.

The basic and important decision on wether to transplant rice seedling or to plant rice directly on the ground here depends on the moisture content volume of your field.
On another note some specie of rice requires a lot of moisture content to grow after planting them. Hence the type of planting methods one employs is important but one still has to be careful of the field used for these specie of rice.

If rice specie requires a lot of moisture content for it's growth and development be sure to plant it in a field that will hold enough water content. The planting can be through seedling or planting the grains directly on the ground when the soil is like ours here. But after planting one must have studied that location very well and be sure that when the rains come such field will be able to hold a large quantity of water for a long time required for the rice to grow and mature.

Some fields do not hold water contents for long, once they rains cease they become dry immediately while some other fields can hold water for longer periods.

I have equally talked about the best specie of rice that one can plant and at what time it is best to plant the different specie in a separate blog. Access the link below

These are all vital criteria to keep in mind when growing rice.
The different specie and what type of soil will be good for them and the important planting method to be employed when planting rice.</div>
