SMT : Importance of Availability in Technology

> Availability is one of the five pillars of Information Assurance (IA). The other four are integrity, authentication, confidentiality and nonrepudiation. When a system is regularly non-functioning, information availability is affected and significantly impacts users. In addition, when data is not secure and easily available, information security is affected, i.e., top secret security clearances. Another factor affecting availability is time. If a computer system cannot deliver information efficiently, then availability is compromised.

**The knowledge is power.** Power is one of the most important parameters in every field of life. Even in relations, it has great importance. For couples; money, status, culture level, experience can be a sign of strength. But for technology, in my opinion, availability is the greatest power. A product is profitable as long as it can be continuously used and continuously modified. This provides a force in the commercial sense.

Nowadays, the relationship between technological evolutions and changes in use has undergone a fundamental shift. Web 2.0 is an example of a technological evolution. The term **“Web 2.0”** appeared for the first time in 1999.

> The Web we know now, which loads into a browser window in essentially static screenfuls, is only an embryo of the Web to come. The first glimmerings of Web 2.0 are beginning to appear, and we are just starting to see how that embryo might develop. The Web will be understood not as screenfuls of text and graphics but as a transport mechanism, the ether through which interactivity happens. It will […] appear on your computer screen, […] on your TV set […] your car dashboard […] your cell phone […] hand-held game machines […] maybe even your microwave oven.

Web 2.0 have a dynamic nature and designed for use with multiple devices. It is a means of producing interaction, and has been labeled as *“the social Web”*. I think that is the important part. **Social Web**. Because when web had a social skill, when we started to market it as social thing, then web became a part of our lives. A guy made **Facebook**, another made **Instagram**. And we opened our lives, our privaticy. That is the one of the huge step for selling life style.

This technological evolution led to changes in use. Now users want to add their own content, whether from home, from their workplace or while traveling. Because social web term saying *"Your life is valuable, share it. Everyone can be famous and create valuable content from anywhere."* and people love this idea, this life style. Sharing your life. Vlogs, blogs, pictures from instagram, location from Swarm, tweets etc. That is the product which has skill of availability. We do not need a physical product for this. Continuity is important.

We need two variables to undestand the profit that a product will bring, and the volume it will generate in the market:

- Can it create side products?
- How much continuity?

If a technology is addressing a particular generation, it must have a concept that can generate as much by-products as possible. At this point, side processes occur without ending the process and technology provides as much profit as possible, and if lucky, these side processes can turn into a new main process. Web2.0 is an example of this. It integrated social media into our life.

But now there is a different web version idea. There is the SMT idea that makes the social media idea a sector. Users can make money with their shares, and they do it with crypto money. I think **SMT**'s biggest contribution to an ordinary user is the ability to translate his life or his thoughts into a company or directly into a digital currency. The purpose of Web 2 was to share people with social media and to direct production.

With SMT, can we say that the goal is to go beyond this and produce the lives or thoughts of people?Because the product itself is the product itself, it will be easier to produce by-products and maintain continuity. Moreover, the basic rule in marketing is to connect the customer with the product. SMT technology does it easily. So I think SMT will be the technology of the future. Because its availability is very high compared to other technological products.
