Testing the negative space in photography.

Since I started this long journey into photography, I have tried to seek out and learn as much information as I can on a daily basis, some readings I don't put into practice until the right moment comes.

Today, while walking through the streets of the city, looking for photographs for a contest in which I want to participate this week, I remembered that some time ago I read about negative space in photography, I think that subconsciously I already had it planned, because today I came out with only one lens, the Canon 55-250mm, which if you know how to use it well, creates a huge bokeh in each of our photographs, but what is this concept of negative space?

It's about isolating our subject / motive in the photograph and placing it in one of the four points of the rule of thirds, for example, the following image in the cut-out, you can see that the flower is in the lower left third, I don't want to imply that I'm an expert in all this, in fact, I make this posts so that it's slowly documented how far I can go with my self-taught learning.

![1.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/monster-one/wO6NHp7Q-1.png)
*If you want to know more about negative space, I recommend you to do a little search on the Internet.*

But well, as I said, thinking about the composition and due to the extreme bokeh I have in my photography, it's easy to isolate my little plant, without the background influencing or distracting the view on the main character.

Now is time to play a little with LUTs and create those cinematic colors, I don't get tired of seeing them! (*click on the images to see them at full size.*)

The following picture is very curious, following the same idea of the negative space, I tried to take the picture with my cell phone (Xiaomi Redmi Note 7), the result could have been much better, especially because I didn't spend much time taking the picture, the bad thing is that it was very windy when I wanted to take the picture with the camera, and when I took the cell phone it was calm, if I believed in spirits I would say that someone didn't want me to take the picture, this is the picture with the smartphone:

*And this is the photo with the camera, the truth is that the first image was very bright:*

*So I repeated the picture from a different position:*

And now again using LUTs in the editing, (*click on the images to see them at full size.*)
